I've been feeling really ugly lately. :/

Stupid Comcast. The other day our internet was locked for lack of payment even though we payed. And even though it was supposedly sorted out, it still keeps locking out sometimes. Like, it will be working one minute, and the next minute I'll open a new tab and get a locked message. And they have no answers for me.

It's legendary how bad Comcast is from what i've read...they're a monopoly so many places in the US, it's hard to avoid.

If you have a router, unplug that, then hit the reset button on your modem for ten seconds, then wait two minutes, then plug the router back in.

If that fails, call support and tell them "I keep getting stuck in walled garden, you need to reprovision my modem."

That should be the key words you need. I'm sorry some of my colleges are kinda crap. If it helps any, some of us really do care....

I am going to be really fucked for money, and there's not really a plan B.

Every single person I've seen defend this gamergate bullshit is either complete trash or a complete idiot and I will not be convinced otherwise.

My friend defended it with "well, of course that guy is upset if she slept with five guys while in a relationship with him." Well, okay, that isn't good, but it doesn't excuse the guys sending her DEATH THREATS. Or sending death threats to random females who aren't even her just because they're female.

Yeah it's a load of horsecrap.

It is kind of amusing how every time someone goes and says or does something awful and completely fucked up about how women are evil, everyone in the 'movement' immediately starts talking about how that doesn't represent them despite the fact that it is by far the most visible and significant thing their movement has done. And by 'amusing' I mean 'makes me want to laugh so hard that I choke on my own vomit'

People who defend shitty behavior are often shitty. I found this out when there was an assault scandal at my college and aaaaall the victim blamers came out of the woodwork on facebook.

They've pretty much killed all desire I have to be associated with "gamers", despite playing more of them virtually anyone else I know, and have since I was a small child. Ironically, as a well-educated adult female professional, I'm exactly the kind of person whose existence in that group could debunk the stereotype that they're all bitter manbabies living in their mother's basements, but no, no, thanks for confirming that stereotype for me and everyone else in the world forever, guys.

I'm ashamed to admit I bought into the "journalistic integrity" lie for a little while. I'd been banging on the "games journalism is a bunch of shills" drum for years and years, ever since a guy was fired when a publisher pulled their ads after he wrote a bad review of a game. So I was easily suckered in. But I realized that not only is it ultimately irrelevant (entertainment journalism of any type is inherently a shill anyway and there's nothing to really be done about it) but in this case it's just a front for a misogynist ultra-tirade by outraged neckbeards, and I don't care how bad some people want to try to label me as one, I am not one of those... things. I'm done with it. I bailed quickly once I saw how ugly things were getting and how much the term has stopped meaning anything to do with journalistic integrity. I know some people are trying to reclaim the hashtag to talk about the topic GG is ostensibly actually about, but I think it's pointless. Let the trogs have it.

Oh shit, I was keeping my nuts out of that particular vice. "Live and Let them destroy each other" kinda style.

Then some fucker Doxxed Felicia fucking Day! They made ~~a powerful~~ an ineffectual but raged filled enemy on that day.

I'm just pissed off that this whole GamerGate thing has suddenly turned into 'All gamers are assholes who will harass people out of their homes.' I've seen so many people denounce gamers as a whole, and it makes me sad and upset.

I hate fall. I hate how it starts off with overly hot, humid summer weather, but you can't keep on living like it's summer. I hate the pools closing in September no matter how hot it is. I hate everyone being excited about school, and expecting me to be excited instead of horribly stressed out, and asking me a billion times what classes I have/what is my major/how is school and I will laugh in your face and call you a liar if you just say okay, because the only proper answer if it is fine is start talking excitedly and keep the conversation going because if you can't be IN school this very moment the next best thing is talking about it RIGHT?

I hate how cold it's getting now. I hate having to wear sweaters and jackets and all that cumbersome, bulky stuff that I then will have to carry around when it gets warm again in the afternoon.

I hate how depressing and stressful it is, and I hate everyone telling me much they LOVE FALL and expecting me to agree with them and go on about how great it is.

Why can't it be spring already?

I just got irrationally annoyed with someone for helping me because he came by when I was trying to do something. And I haven't commented to anyone on my flist because they're all talking about real life shit, and I don't have patience for that right now.

I was having such a good day, and I don't know what happened.

I just found out that we're getting yet another special needs volunteer at my workplace next week, and I wish management understood how difficult this makes life for the actual staff. Especially when they turn up without carers, so in addition to 70+ vulnerable animals I now have to babysit a person. I'm not trained for this, I'm not comfortable with it, and on several occasions it's had a negative impact on the animals (pens left open, locks jammed, timid animals roughly grabbed and shouted at).

I'm sorry, but if you'd need a professional carer to help out at home, then you'll also need them if you want to volunteer. Otherwise you're not doing any good, you're making things worse.

It's starting to feel like summer and I hate it. This is justified, because summer does not fuck around where I live. Walking outside today felt like stepping into an oven.

My friend also told me the wrong day for a thing we were doing so I looked like an idiot, then tried to blame me for not being psychic and knowing he meant something else.

Now it's suddenly happening tonight and I feel like I'm unprepared.

Tonight my friends and I were going to watch a movie via Livestream, and one of my friends just got SSB4 on the 3DS. He and my other friend started playing the game together, and when I asked if I could join them, they told me "No, since you're too good and we're too unskilled you'd beat us constantly."

1. I'm not /that/ good at the game
2. These two are literally my only actual friends

So I watched the movie by myself while they talked about how much fun they were having in the chatbox. fml. I have other people I can play with but they play competitively and wipe the floor with me and I really only host rooms for them to fight each other. I honestly want to just curl up in a ball and eat ice cream right now.
