9. I used to be that guy(girl). My friends are all very into J-pop, and I...I just can't get into it. Give me wacky Irish reels and drinking songs any day. But I stopped trying to pretend. Now I just make sure that if I can't be interested for the sake of the band or music, that I'm at least interested because it's something that my friends enjoy, and because they repay the favour by tolerating my Doctor Who and Great Big Sea rants.
Fortunately, we do still have a lot in common. Oddly enough, it's none of the stuff that we had in common before. I'm almost glad for that, because it means that we've grown as people and still remained friends.



27. It's furry. Get over it. Furry =/= weird fetishes, porn, and people who think that inside they are secretly a winged wolf or something. Fury = anthropomorphic animals.

And Lackadaisy=FRIGGEN SWEET!!! Seriously, it's just great.


28. I agree. And to add to my hypocrisy, the larger portion of my fics on ff.n tend to be epic-unfinished type. But I prefer small fics that paint a good picture, and I'm trying to do that more often.

Actually, I think Owen is my favorite character in the show, because in a way, he's the more genuine. I like Ianto and I like Jack, but they're not what they seemed to be, and I feel let down by them. Owen steps on the scene and basically goes "Hello, I'm the token dickweed of the show!" and he was exactly that. He's a huge, horny, self-absorbed jerk, but darn it, he never seemed like anything else. I kind of like that. And when he does have more human moments (like that pilot), you just feel for him because, well, they don't make him a worse person, they just show that he's not as cold as he acts.
Also, I think he's interesting looking, I love the name Owen (thanks, Gargoyles), and Burn is a pretty sweet given name.

HAHA, it was me. (Screw anonymity, or something.) I'm in the process of writing my own, BUT THE WORLD NEEDS MORE!!! Although I didn't really get into it as a second choice to Elricest or anything (don't get me wrong; I love some incest pairings a whole lot, but Ed and Al just make me want to flail and exclaim: "BUT THEY'RE BROTHERS!!!! Oh, it wasn't a second choice at all, it's just how I started to feel. The later I stayed in fandom the more pathetically fluffy and in love the RoyEd fics became. When I started, half of them were rapefic, and last I checked I didn't see anything like that. Everything was just happy, in love, fluffflufffluff. Of course, I've been out of the fandom at least a year, myself...

but I totally think Ed and Al are in love with each other. Whether or not they have a phsyical/sexual relationship is another matter all together... but the intense obsessively in love is where I'm going with that.

I joined in '01, around when the finale was aired. I was just too young to appreciate when the show started (I think I was like, 7). Which I guess makes me...a second-wave fan, or something.

I'm kinda surprised that new fans are getting into the show so late in the game, what with there being no episodes for over six years now...I'm even more surprised that there's XF fanwank still around, too!

1: I don't think that the Phoenix arc is going to go away. I think a lot of people who've played GS4 actually prefer the original characters anyway. I know that I don't plan on giving up the characters from the first arc. There's room for both.

Isn't he ridiculously awesome? This is from volume 9 of Berlin. The first 8 volumes are in trade paperback (Berlin: City of Stones, Book 1) and you can totally get it pretty easily - and cheaply - online. He's always experimenting with sound and with music (and silence) and noise and thoughts and works and images and how they work together and how they don't. I'm absolutely in love with this man's work. Even more awesome is that this (http://www.sendspace.com/file/hsfoax) is the song they're playing. It's called the "Sugarfoot Stomp", and that's an mp3 by Louis Armstrong, King Oliver, and Bessie Smith.
