So hard!

I absolutely hate the head canon of hobbits being made or being associated with Yavanna.

???

I thought they were an offshoot of Men?

Yes. Ents are Yavanna's things (not created by her, but created to protect her things at her request).

It isn't like hobbits are unique in loving nature anyway. Elves are just as nature loving.

And Hobbits are offshoots of men who don't even turn up until much later in history.

It is, for me, one of those things I liked at first, but got tired of because everyone grabbed onto it.

Co-freakin'-signed. Esp. the "cute and lighthearted thing is secretly dark and edgy and horrible" ones--those are always the most boring ones, and usually seem to be thrown together by people who can't accept that they just like a cute and lighthearted thing, and thus need to make it into something it's not to make it "acceptable."

Agreed with all of these!

I have nothing against "secretly evil" in theory, but most of the time it feels like people don't understand that a good person can have bad sides or done something bad without being evil (or vice versa).

It gets ridiculous when they take the character attempting to do good only for it to later end up badly/make things worse as proof that they're evil. Er, no, typically it just means they can't look into the future or had bad judgment.

Yes. This so much. Or even just making complicated characters into purely good (or evil).

Is there a lot of stupid/bigoted Steve fic? I've not read any, but it may be because they are terrible fics and not reviewed well. :P

Yeah all of these get old, though I thankfully haven't seen that much of bigoted Steve, stupid Steve yes and it's annoying.

Stupid!Thor is still sadly prevalent despite the movies showing us that he actually does have a brain in his head, but alas.

The assumption that Kirk and Spock's relationship >>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other relationship of theirs.

Yes, it's their most important one, IMO, but I think it's just one >, and a small > at that.

I think I've said this before, but there is a popular headcanon that Melkor abuses Mairon and that their relationship involves Mairon never saying anything for himself and just doing everything Melkor says.

And while there are some awesome abusive!Melkor fics, I've come to disagree with that headcanon. That's how Melkor is with everyone else, but with Mairon it is different. Mairon is his second in command. And while Mairon obeys, he also talks for himself and has his own ideas. I think it is kind of clear in canon, at least to me, that Sauron is kind of the idea guy, the one who actually manages to accomplish the things Melkor wants. And also, if Melkor treated him like everyone else, how is his being second in command any different.

Another thing I hate is the idea that Mairon was pure and innocent until Melkor corrupted him. I highly doubt that. I'm pretty sure he had the same personality traits like obsession with order, vanity, perfectionism, and pride. Melkor had to have seen some sort of potential for evil in him, and personalities don't completely change.

I don't think Elsa is gay. I don't think there was anything in the movie that could define her sexuality one way or the other. I just don't think Disney is going to risk their new cash cow to give her a girlfriend, either.

Steven Universe

A lot of fans read Pearl as autistic and think that's why Jasper called her "defective." I don't think it's quite that tidy. We know that Pearls are low-caste and meant to follow orders, and it seems like both they and Peridots were made to directly interface with computer systems. I think Pearls and Peridots are supposed to be unempathetic and not understand or care about social interaction, focused only on maintaining and repairing technology. Our Pearl is "defective" because she didn't accept that role and sought interaction with other Gems.

Abusive Howards Stark in the MCU. He may have been a crappy parent, but there is no indication that he was abusive.

That Fenris is trans. As a headcanon, cool, no problem. But I disagree that it's canon. I just don't think Danarius would have respected his gender if he had a biologically female body, since as a slave he was literally a possession.

More Dragon Age

That "Anders did nothing wrong." Someone's reasons can be understandable, but despite that their actions can still be wrong.

I disagree with every "this male character is nice, sweet, caring and shy - must be trans or ~genderfluid~" headcanon. (Same goes for the female character opposite but I see the former much more often.)

I am here with my hate of Daud.

No, NO Emily would not have her kidnapper and murderer of her mother become her new spymaster. NO Corvo will not be fucking the murderer of his love and kidnapper of his child.

Maybe if you wrote these situations out of the story but keeping them in as evidence of his spymasteryness? What the fuck is a ring with you?!

Also the whalers had a girl in them. Probably had more girls than just Billie. Kinda hard to tell in those shapeless outfits.

Just, anything woobie Daud. GTFO.

All of the background pony fanon. Even the few that have become canon. Just because a character is sitting on a bench does not mean that she is obsessed with humans or some shit.
