52. Fushigi Yuugi was my first fandom and I was into HUGELY. I eventually fell out (I never much liked the actual show, but the characters were lovely). I went and rewatched and attempted to reread the series, but it wasn't possible. I found the manga to be completely ugly and awful and the anime to be unwatchable after they found Mitsukake. I don't hate her, but I haven't liked a single series she's put out since FY and I've actually attempted to read every last one of them.

11 - ROFL, the funny thing is that you're completely right. They're cheesy pseudo-fantasy novels written for horny thirteen year-old vampire fangirls. Practically every character in the books is a Mary-Sue and the author doesn't even write that well. I read them last summer and got caught up in the hysteria, but now I'm just like "WTF was I thinking?!" Now I only follow it for lulz.

29 - I love US Office and all, but UK is way funnier, imo.

01. Each to their own and all that, but... You could really be missing out on something great. And, even if your fears do come true and all the fanwork sucks, what's to stop you from just hitting the back button and forgetting about it? Why should something like that "ruin" a fandom?

05. Oh please. Talk about giving yourself too much credit. If you completely wing it in order to "create ships", people will frickin' notice (just look at the Nyoron group for example) -- whether it's because they know enough Japanese to get it themselves, or from word of mouth. Secondly, it takes a lot more than some fansubs to make people ship something; you know, little things like character interaction, looks, story lines, etc. Third, what's the damn point?! Why go through all the trouble of fansubbing if you're just gonna make up the most important bit, namely the actual translation.

11. Yeah, I hadn't heard about it before either... Though I never even bothered looking up the summary; I just automatically skip all the secrets with that damn picture (seriously, is that the only pic available for this fandom?!).

I was going to submit a secret about the fact that I am now convinced that Agent Smith and Jerry Cornelius are cross-fandom BFFs, except that my entire f-list would know it was me. ;_; I even made a graphic for it and everything. I've been thinking of working on a Smith/Cornelius "bromance" story for about a year now. Forget the fandom...I'm pretty sure that Michael Moorcock would kill me.
