54. I agree. Not only are there worse things than furries, there are so few bad furries in proportion to all the furry haters. Give me PROOF that all furries are this awful, and then I'll listen to your (general you) little tirade, until then you're just a normality-obsessed noob who thinks they'll rape your cat.

[identity profile] theorygirl.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 10:40 pm (UTC)(link)
53. I saw a pantsless bondage Izzy pic once years ago. It still makes me shudder.

I think 46 is a repeat.

[identity profile] georg-vanlunden.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
5. But... what about all the people who actually speak japanese? WOn't they notice? Is a secret like this really happening? AM I TAKING CRAZY PILLS RITE NOW?

7... My. My god. Why didn't I see it before? A woman he doesn't have to put a slave crown on in order to get her to obey him? How could Mr K not be all over that?! I mean, sure, the part of me that is my childhood innocence and values cry out against it, arguing that Kefka is so purely insane and driven by everything's end to ever even consider letting some lovesick twit follow him around, but the adult part of me that says 'screw your morals I got crack' tells me that this is the OTP I've been waiting for all along!

16. I do wish I could argue against this secret. But then I take a look at myself, and. Well. It's not like I can DENY it. Also how is the image related to the secret in question?

18. Kabuto should have a series of his own. Or maybe even a childrens show, where he tells kids doctory science with his... Ninja Info Cards.

25. I can't ship Luffy with anyone period. That you do proves you're a greater crackhead than me, dear poster!

27. You know, you got a point. Sure, it's a bit harsh when you regularly chat with people who are following new shows, but for the chance to just follow something from the very beginning to the very end, and NOT have to deal with the fandom wank until later when you read about what was popular and giggle at them and go 'oh those silly silly people who ahve now moved on to new and wankier pastures, why can't they see the shortcomings of their own reasoning'... what I wouldn't give for that.

30. Yummiest secret of this post! Do you think it tastes like pear? I think it does.

36. What is that, ONeechanbanbara? With the zombiekilling samurai cowgirls?

37. And I wish more secrets were like this. Thank you for posting nice things about people on the internet, OP.

41. You and me both, buddy. If they actually give Donald and Goofy roles beyond Those Two Guys, in the next game, I'll ignore all the exposition and empty, dully designed worlds and join you in the creaming of pants.

50. This secret is fabulously funny.
51. But this secret is EVEN MORE FABULOUSER. Where oh WHERE can I find where this was originally posted? I want to learn more! I'm even imagining backstories of my own! Did Laser Shark ever learned to trust dolphins after they raped his father? Is Rabid Squirrel actually hoarding all the items he finds because he grew up poor and never had enough to eat? Will Rape Squid ever find CONSENSUAL love on the battlefield? Tell me these things!

7 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-02-06 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
...I'm glad I could spread the crack. :D It's so wrong and yet so right.

Oh, and regarding 51, the most epic thread in the existence of this very comm can be found here: http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/124037.html?thread=32333957#t32333957

This is not one of those days. What are you, 12?

[identity profile] bip-bebop.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, maybe, if most of the people who read the manga didn't COMPLETELY AGREE. XD;
Seriously, we've been making fun of the ludicrously melodramatic anime since it came out. There's a distinct difference between "epic" angles in a comic and adding in slow-motion, falling off buildings to be "symbolic", Kill Bill-style blood spray from a PEN, sparkling potato chip crumbs...you get the idea. I get that there is a LOT of TL;DR-type ranting/thinking in the manga and that's rather hard to translate to anime without it getting really boring, so they had to come up with some filler-animation, but still...it's kind of hilarious the way they went about it. I would honestly think Death Note would've been better left as a comic if I didn't enjoy listening to the characters talk and seeing them move so much.

5. Someone sure did that with G-00, and Graham and Billy have enough as it is, they don't need sub-on innuendo. If you do it well and make it funny, why the hell not. As long as it's even remotely on topic. Fans see and hear stuff they want to see and hear anyway, why not make it a little easier on themXDD

48. Ahahahaa oh god, I despise this pairing more than almost anything and you might've just made me like it a little bitXD

Re: 5

(Anonymous) 2008-02-07 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Because some people prefer to get the canon interpretation of a series first? Seriously if you're gonna make shit up, warn for it. It's bullshit to deceive people.

On one hand, I agree; people who are squicked by furry art need to open their eyes and see there are worse things out there. On the other; I'm a fur who happens to enjoy fic/art with most of those kinks (scat? no thanks..), so logically I should be offended that I've just been called vile. I'm not, but I should be.

Oh well. =) I agree to a point, but not completely.

[identity profile] chicafrom3.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
20. I'm in the process of rereading the series now and I think I'm subconsciously trying to put off reading the last one for as long as possible so I can try to pretend she and Tobias wound up with something approaching happy ever after. ...although, seriously, I think KA introduced me to really-screwed-up-OTPs, which is a trend that follows me to this very day. Even if Rachel had lived they wouldn't really have had a happy ever after, but still, I cried the first time I read it and I have a bad feeling that I'll take it almost as badly this time around.

20

[identity profile] squirrelarmy.livejournal.com 2008-02-06 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
I recently re-read Animorphs, and the last book really just makes me want to write a sappy AU where Rachel (and Tom) lives and she and Tobias stay together forever (though Cassie and Jake is still up in the air) and Marco marries some kind of powerhouse of a woman and has a tiny little daughter that he dotes on and it would be SO CUTE AND SWEET AND ADORABLE.

And there is a Reunion. With Kids. AND SPARKLES.

38. That reminds me of one of my friends... minus the 'writing a manga' part, even though it wouldn't be a manga anyway. He completely disregards manga/anime as art, mostly because in his head, anime equals shoujo sparkly shit with huge soulless eyes. I suspect that's what you think as well. How about you lurk a little longer, read a few manga series (like Eyeshield 21... you'll probably like it), and then consider writing your comic.

And please, if you ever publish it, call it a comic. Generally when I see obviously American comics that say they're manga, I want absolutely nothing to do with them. Especially if the style resembles that of manga, that's just posing. (like another friend of mine... but at least he doesn't pretend to be Japanese.)

54. I'll admit, my first exposure to furries was /b/'s point of view, and even though I generally like to get both sides, it wasn't a very good first impression. I know a few furries, and they're great people completely disinterested in the dirtier side of the fandom or whatever you call it, and that's fine. Most people see the word furry and connect it to the disgusting shit, and it's not your fault, it's the people who create that stuff. But that's just how it is. My opinion? Don't give a shit about other people's opinions. If you're a furry, be happy about it, don't spend all your time defending what you like. I can safely say there are a few things about me that a fair amount of people would balk at, but that's their problem.

Re: 38

[identity profile] bip-bebop.livejournal.com 2008-02-07 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Especially if the style resembles that of manga, that's just posing.

DO PEOPLE NOT RECOGNIZE THAT BIG EYES =/= MANGAKA WANNABE POSER?!
FUCK. I've been drawing huge eyes since I could even hold a pencil and have the pictures as proof, FAR before I ever saw anything even REMOTELY similar to anime, and now just because my eyes are big I get accused of ripping off the Japanese. They don't even look like anime eyes, they're just big. ;aWOIlskjdmx
Unless of course you're talking about the people who draw in a style that is obviously influenced by manga, in which case I see where you're coming from, but there is still a good and bad way to go about it. Something like this shit (http://weblogs.variety.com/photos/uncategorized/dramacon1.jpg) for instance, I can't tolerate. But then stuff like this person's work (http://www.blackmoontides.com/main.html) or this (http://elf-shojo.deviantart.com/art/I-dun-want-yer-bloody-tea-7298552) has much more merit and an original style albeit being influenced by Japanese works.

38) . . .

48) You mean Iruka's a man?! When did this happen?

54) Because the fact that all the things you just mentioned are regarded as part of Furry Fandom means nothing. Nothing at all.

54. Uhm, what? They're not. Oh, sure, there's furry guro, scat, snuff, necrophilia, etc. And while I have (luckily) yet to observe this first-hand, I'm also willing to bet that there's a lot of it. But, uhm, there's also a lot of non-furry guro, scat, snuff, necrophilia, etc. It's not as if all that stuff is unique to the furry fandom.
