12. I can only assume if you think it will start joint wank that you're not terribly familiar with a good portion of the Rose/Doctor crew. A lot of us liked the OT3 just as much, and never saw Jack as intruding. (Actually, I think the relationship Jack had with the Doctor and Rose is probably what made it so obvious to me, even long before I got into the Classic series, that the Doctor can't really be shipped with just one person).

But about him being the new companion...sorry, he's dead. No, I'm serious. The guy, the one in the picture, in the t-shirt with the fresh-and-naughty-boy grin...yeah, he is long gone by a hundred or so years, and replaced with a bitter and kinda creepy husk of a man. I miss old-Jack, but, well, it is what it is.

1. You know, come to think of it, I have to say I do more-or-less the same thing. It's nice not to have any pre-concieved notions about characters, or not feeling bad because you like a character everyone hates, and such and such. Plus, I guess I get more attatched to a series (whether it be book, cartoon, game and such) when it just feels like me enjoying the strange little world all the characters populate, instead of feeling overcrowded by fandom. Er, if that makes sense?

Now you know how I felt when my entire flist was in love with Supernatural, which is still crap, by the way. Luckily I won't be able to hear your screams over that hideous little gnome's music.

Maybe you should find friends who aren't in bandom. It isn't that difficult, I promise. Seriously, let people like the music they like and the people who play the music they like; let them squee. Bandom is my happy place, personally. It's not hard to find one's own.

I don't even dislike the music. I have some CDs of theirs. I just don't see the appeal of the musicians as sex objects: not with the fans, and certainly not with each other. That said, I'm not harshing anyone's squee (except perhaps one or two people's today by having my secret posted). I've never said one word about my dislike of the proliferation of this fandom to any of my friends, and I'm glad they're enjoying it, just sad that we don't seem to have anything in common any more.

By the way, I'm not in Supernatural fandom either because I don't get how brothers fucking is supposed to be a turn-on, so I can understand your distress over the popularity of that, too.

2. I wonder why so many people see being polite, or simply ignoring wank, as being fake. Since when do you have to rude and pointlessly nasty to speak your mind? And sometimes it's just not worth it, seriously.

I have no problem with people who like to speak their minds, even if they do it in wanky ways. (I have plenty of people like that in my flist, actually, and they know how I feel about it.) I just stay away from the wank if I'm not interested. But it does bother me when people think that if you don't mock everyone you dislike, then you're being "fake".

Why? Because I recently got my grubby mitts on a torrent... Watching it again reminded me of many things.
I was reminded that I blocked out his death from my memory... and that I still don't think of him as dead.

I was also reminded it helped to inspire me to create something worth putting my energies into; something that proves the better heroes are the flawed ones.
