Yes.

I firmly believe there's nothing intrinsically terrible or skeevy or creepy about it.

I'm sure in practice many of them are terrible. So if we're talking about actually-existing male het doms, or specific people, yeah no doubt.

In theory I believe this too, but then you thing about the practicalities of the actions he gets off on taking against women it and I just thing "I don't want that man as any small part of my life."

Yes. Its' not just a vibe, they are skevy.

So my thing is: I think het male domination could be done in a responsible way, despite its surface level appearance.

I also don't trust most people to BE that responsible.

Honestly, there's a reason I only went to one local kinksters meeting.

No more of a skeevy vibe than I get from ANYONE who wants to dom someone else. I mean, as long as it is consensual by all adult parties, I don't care what people do.

If they're going around informing people they are a hetmale dom and making a big deal of it, sure. Like any other kink.

Otherwise, if I can't even tell they are one because they keep it private in their own bedroom with their own spouse or committed partner or whathaveyou, not skeeved at all.

I think the skewed perception of hetmale doms being generally skeevy is because the ones you know are doms and up front inform you about it are the skeevy ones, whereas your favorite middle aged college professor who has been married to his lovely wife for 25 years who likes spanking her on weekends... you're not going to pin as a hetmale dom at all.

If I do, I find het female doms just as creepy. Actually, all the female doms I've met, het or lesbian, have been the creepiest fuckers I've met.

When I did Domme work, a black client wanted me to use racial slurs against him and I was like "line, sorry, thats where I have to draw it." Honestly yeah, though I'm aware how unfair that is. I'm even into submission, but I genuinely can't bring myself to trust a straight man that calls himself a Dom.

I'm sorry to say it but my RL experience had led me not to trust them.

Even if you can trust them to actually respect consent, someone whose entire sexuality is centered upon demeaning women is probably someone I'd have trouble trusting with any kind of intimacy. Can you trust them to actually respect you outside a scene? All their fantasies are about putting you down.

There's other flavors who aren't so worrisome. Switches seem safer. If you're into pet stuff they might not be so bad: it looks more like a caretaker sort of arrangement than anything?

Can I just say first that not all BDSM even involves pain play. There can be dominance and submission without pain play. I say this as someone who is into the dynamic but generally not into pain. I'm in it for the trust involves. Someone trusting me that much is a turn on. And control is a turn on.

Second, while I find many individual male doms skeevy and while the assumptions that men are dominant and women are submissive skeeves me, I don't find them as a category skeevy. As long as they want their submissive to be pleased and get what they want out of the dynamic, I don't see the problem. I think a sadist can be in to pain without being into making the person miserable. They can be just as in to their partner's pleasure as their pain.
