20. Everything the judge says is solid gold. <3 I was so happy to see him back in Apollo. D;

21. Call me an 'idiot' but I kind of like those secrets. I find it fun to see what other pairings people ship. And the whole "I support Yuri, and I'm a girl." thing is fine and dandy when you are in the position to be able to admit it. Some people may not have that freedom to express that or be too embarrassed to, so you know, hence the 'secret' part. ;)

50. It is unique to see them re-using characters, but after a while it does get stale, yeah. I had such high hopes for Tsubasa too. :( Oh well.

39

[identity profile] mature.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
Oh fuck yes. I had no clue this even had an active fandom; I'mma have to go look.

9. Then what are you going to do when their stories are finished?

29. Jesus would read badfic, and he would love it like he loved prostitutes and thieves and Samaritans.

Since reality shows are always edited, I don't think that you should really judge someone for how they are portrayed on the show.

I love how this secret is in the single digits. Actually, I'd love to see secrets numbered starting from 60 so my browser won't catch the date and time in comments either.

59)
I can relate, even on a smaller scale.

16. This girl says: Teh straight boys are welcome in my fandoms. Seriously, come play with us - the more, the merrier!

[identity profile] jeanquirieplus.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
16, don't be stupid. Fandom isn't a unisex thing. Considering you're a member of the group that makes up roughly half of all human population it'd be a bit a ridiculous if we closed our doors to you.

Besides, you lend street cred to those of us trying to write porn from a male perspective. :)

Re: 16

[identity profile] jeanquirieplus.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
Lol, and apparently all the girls have come to the yard to mother you. Congrats, man.

#01, I'd really like to understand what you mean, but you'd have to be more detailed.

#02, You're stuck up for not appreciating his need for privacy.

#08, I know what you mean. Also, that's my comment, LOL.

#09, whatever keeps you going. :)

#14, there is? Being mostly outside of fandom, I hardly see anything that's NOT. -Though I wish there was more.-

#16, :(

#21, LOL

#24, yeah, that kinda sucks when you find out something you thought was you is not. It's nice that something could make you feel better about it.

#27, LOL When I was a child the noise of telephone poles scared me long before this series. I understand. >.<

#29, 0.o LOL Great! Now I'm gonna visualize it whenever I read something disappointing. :/

#36, I prefer transliterations over translations in most cases, just because I get to learn more on the culture. It is really sad how people get hated just because they changed something little so it makes more sense though. Things like "How can my feet smell if they don't have a nose?"* don't translate in most languages. Even in Spanish it would have to be translated "feet have smell". So...meh
*Ed, Edd, and Eddy

#37, you are a pervert. Get over it.

#41, LOLSailorMOon secret! (where are all of you coming from). Yeah, Sailor Mars is pretty cool.

#45, I'm so sorry you had to go through that. Some people are just really hurtful.

#47, after watching the show in my 20s I can see why.

#55, I don't know anything about that show, but I feel like that with people who ship characters like Sonic/Tails or things like that. It's just sick.

#72, OMGosh"! I have a set of those shiny, sparkly purple dice in this secret. ^___^

55

(Anonymous) 2008-03-16 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
it's sick that some people would prefer to see the bonds of friendship run a little deeper into a more physical consummation of their feelings for one another?

OK!

5. I don't really care about Kaylee/Jayne, but Mal/River FTW! They're totally my Firefly OTP.

18. I don't know who the first guy is in the picture, but I love the other two, especially Connor! I love him sososo much. :D

23. Kristen Bell as Ruby?! Really? I just don't see that as working. :P

[identity profile] nanyakanya.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
10. Uhhhh.... you DO know they're both based off the same manga, right? o_O;; And having seen both of them, I can say that they're both good in their own special ways. MatsuJun makes an adorable Doumyouji, though MG has Vic Zhou... ♥

57. ULFULS FOR THE WIN!!!!!! A lot of their music is like that, honestly. :3 They're such a fucking fabulous band. It's a pity more people don't give them the respect they're due. Then again, it means less wank, so woo! XD

[identity profile] rekallthegreat.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
50. I really don't get people like you who have so much rage because your friends like something different than you. I think it's cute when my friends get excited about a series I don't like/don't know because I'm happy for them. Them being happy makes me happy even if it's Fruits Basket that makes them happy.

05. Mal/River is hot.
08. LOL, ikr?
21. LOL. Although I can see why people might not want it to get around that they ship veggie tales or something.
23. Me, too.
29. LOL!
46. Fandom isn't drugs. There's obviously still some part of you that enjoys it or you'd just quit participating and not angst over it.
48. IA. I loved Max/Logan.
53. I'm a huge DW fan, but I can't get pissy about this secret, b/c the last two sentences? Could be me talking about freaking Twilight.
67. Yeah, as much as I love the show, this is why I stay out of the fandom.

9. If it gets you through the day, it can't be worthless.

22. ...okay, points for creativity on that one.

72. Someone kicked you out of a multifandom game and turned you elitist, didn't they?

34. Either troll or a bitter, sad individual. Fluff might not happen, sure, but fandom rarely does either.

72 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-03-16 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That is an irritatingly smug assumption. Uh, no. Especially not considering my secret wasn't aimed at all multi-fandom RPs, just fandom's all-consuming obsession with a certain kind of multi-fandom RP.

02. I can see thinking that a bit, but mostly, it just makes me a little sad and disappointed. But I can understand why he'd maybe want to keep a low profile. The members of my favourite band (Great Big Sea) also request that their personal lives stay personal and all (though from accounts, when they meet fans, they're crazy-nice, and it's not unknown for them to have a pint with fans, or even for Alan to sit in at a pre-concert session).
I'd be terrified to meet John Simm, partially because I'd gibber like a fangirl, partially because I'd have to be restraining the "OmigoshJUMPHIM!" portion of my brain, and partially because I guess if he freaks out over fan attention, he wouldn't be so understanding of that.
I kind of envy it, though. I think if I were famous, I'd milk all the attention I could out of it, so I kind of respect people who just dismiss it because it's not important to them.

03. Y'know, I just graduated Sequential, but darn it, I have to say--I AGREE! I don't care how cheesy and overdone Wolvie is. I love him anyway. He is hardcore. He may be overexposed hardcore, but if you don't drown yourself in Marvel, you don't really notice that.

05. Yes to the first, nooooo to the second. I can't really see River being with anyone, and Mal...just no. She's too much a child in the wrong aspects. But I really kind of liked the idea of Jayne/Kaylee ever since the first episode, when we saw Jayne crouched outside of the sickbay after Kaylee had been shot, making the puppy face.

14. I have succumbed to drawing cute fluffy romance on occassion, but I will do my hardest to avoid out and out smut or the like. I know that a Toad/Nightcrawler (or whichever) pic would probably up my pageview count, but...eh.

16. I find that pretty interesting, especially considering that not long ago, fandom was considered a very male-dominated sort of thing.

33. Oh my gosh, I wouldn't take that as a compliment at all. I mean, I like Elliot as a character, but it would be a horrible thing to be like her as a person.
Ick, it's like when someone told me I reminded them of Hermione. It was way back before I read HP, so it took awhile for me to realize how deeply I'd been insulted (and this was back when she was just annoying "ugly" and not quite at the level of TERRIFYING she got to later).

40. I can't imagine that needing to be a secret. Everyone I know who saw that show wishes the same thing. The world needs more people like post-battousai Kenshin.

43. YOU ARE MY HERO.
Aw, and I want to give you a big hug right now. I didn't pretend quite to that level, but since I got into the Marx Brothers right before going away to college, I did pretend that he was my friend.
I can't imagine Harpo thinking anyone was crazy for wanting a hug. There's probably a line of people. Especially considering what a great parent he was. Seriously, reading his autobiography has influenced the kind of parent I want to be (should I ever have kids).

53. Oh man, cry moar. Puppets and bad CGI make something not worth watching? Wow, I'd better reevaluated my love of...oh, a lot of stuff. Good writing will win out. Oh noes, it's something I can watch with my friends and my little siblings! Gasp, that must mean it's bad, if it's family appropriate.
Newsflash, wanky troll, even "family programming" can be epic when written well. It doesn't have to be the friggen Sopranos to be good, engaging, or worth watching. If you want to think less of people for enjoying a show that has been a classic for forty years...well, that's your problem.

62. THANK YOU!!! My roommates and I screamed with rage when he won the "fan favourite" award. What was that? He's one of the most horrible, bratty people I've seen on TV. Why not Chris, the guy who was actually, oh, nice?
I think he was horribly spoiled as a child. It looks like his parents wanted to be so very supportive that they never said no. Also...his clothes are terrible. Can not be worn off the runway.

67. Something about the fandom, huh? The wanky fans get all the notice (I don't have any ships in Torchwood, but it caries over, don't it).

14. I dunno. I'm in a fandom that practically slashes itself, and there are a few of us (myself included) that write exclusively gen, and we get as much attention as the BNF slash writers.

53. It's the only "Family Programming" I've ever come across to give children nightmares.

14: Totally agree! I read the occasionally pron, but most of the time I want to read my favorite characters in character not ooc like most porn is.

18: Is that Malachi from Hex? If so, awesome hex secrets!

53: If you don't like it, don't watch. Don't diss your friends just because you don't like their fandom. Besides, your missing out on a good show.

58: I admit it. I cried. I loved that couple as a kid! And it definately helped that Michael Beihn was totally hot!

[identity profile] pavonine.livejournal.com 2008-03-16 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
21. I laughed at the last line. And I must say I agree with the "AND I'M A GIRL" bit.

Hooray for [your] experimentation. It's good enough for Buffy.

29. Really? I think he would read it, burn it, and toast holy marshmallows with the flames.

33. I'd love to be compared to Elliot, neuroses and all. :D YAY ELLIOT

35. SPIDERS!

This batch is making me giggle.

41. Sailor Moon is not anime. Sailor Moon is Sailor Moon. Liking it means you had a childhood.

51. ... Animal Crossing has a fandom?

And where was I?!

60. That reminds me, I still haven't finished watching that movie. And if the Captain is who I think he is. IAWTS.
