lord, not even just the fans have gone off. I haven't ever seen the fucking pap *media* go off on just how bad and fake the whole damn thing looks. Like, maybe it's real. That's fine. Weird as shit but fine.

But daaaaaaamn, they are getting roasted and toasted in the media all over the place.

Maybe they are just fucking for fun, maybe they are going to be the next Brangelina. Whatever makes them happy.

I find it weird the media is getting all bothered by it. The fans always hate when their pretend celeb BF/GF starts dating again.

Yeah, the fan thing doesn't bother me. I'm sympathetic with the folks pointing out how he's been pretty hardline private for the last few years, but he just went 0-100 on this. It's so strange and out of character for him, it makes me start to believe the 'he's thirsty' shit a little bit. Only a little, because I don't know.

But the media going off on this - Telegraph, Guardian, all the camps lining up to slapfight this out, it's pretty goddamn weird straight out the gate.

I just saw this, and my only comment is that I thought Hiddleston had better taste. Oh well.

He probably does, but he hasn't really been in anything big other than Thor/The Avengers in a looong time. I'd say he needs the publicity.

I don't really care but I love this thread for being about something other than a mass shooting or an election

I hate that she dates the same amount of people as any other girl her age and people go 'hahaha Taylor can't keep a man.'

I hate that she spent a long time single and then dated one guy for the past year and a half, and now that she MIGHT be with Hiddleston people are going 'hahaha Taylor's a slut who can't keep a man.'

And most of all I hate those creepy as fuck pictures, because if I was kissing a guy on the beach and someone secretly took a picture behind me and posted it in a goddamn magazine I'd be pissed. Celebrities are not your fucking toys, they are people who happen to enjoy producing media, and people pay them to do so. It's none of our business if Taylor kisses 0 guys or 600. It's none of our business if she has a literal line to her bedroom door. Goddamnit I hate paparazzi and media 'culture.'

I like how you don't think those pics were carefully planned. They are both benefiting from this media storm and they know exactly what they are doing. Celebs (esp Tom Hiddleston) don't get caught making out on a public beach unless they want to be caught.

Lots of female celebrities date lots of guys without getting the kind of mockery Swift does. But I'm betting that the fact that she writes songs about her failed relationships is a significant part of why people feel like her love life is fair game for discussion.

I have been genuinely surprised and disgusted by the nasty, small-minded, judgmental, and frankly misogynist attitude so many people are trotting out with regards to this bit of celeb "news." I didn't think I could even be surprised by people having misogynist attitudes towards female celebs anymore, because it's something that's so constantly just there. But the sheer pettiness of it in this case, and the absolute willful determination people have to see everything regarding this young woman's life in the worst possible light is just mind boggling.

I like both of these two people a lot, and the news that they're together kind of delights me. From what little I can actually know of them, I think they seem like a really good match.

I'm also very interested to see what kind of songs come out of TS's breakup with Calvin Harris. I suspect we're going to be getting some interesting news songs from Taylor. I think her next album may deal a lot more with issues of conflictedness, and the personal responsibility one feels when they're the one who ends it.
