5. I kind of agree with you... Yet not. See, buying anime DVDs can prove to be very expensive (particularly for long-running series), and not everyone is made of money. Also, in the UK where I live, it is much more difficult to get hold of them, anyways.

This comment is made of FAIL. Step into a Forbidden Planet and there's a bigger anime selection than you'd know what to do with, and any reputable comic book shop will order a UK-licensed series in for you if you request it.

09. I don’t know what comm you’re talking about, but I see the problem. Many times people create communities not because they want to encourage the fandom, but to ensure attention and BNF status.

Of course, I’m also the anti-fan, in that I usually give female characters way more of a break than male ones, probably because I expect the backlash that’s been in every damn fandom I’ve observed, and I’m just contrary this way. I don’t like the way the show is handling her bisexuality (being bisexual doesn’t mean you don’t fit into any category, bisexual is a category), but that’s writer-wise, not characterization. 66. I think you have a somewhat short-sighted view of mental issues. It is rarely a case of "a shrink and some happy pills". My dad has had clinical depression for more than ten years now. He's gone to countless shrinks, has a constantly changing regimen of medication, and he still isn't better. We consider it a success when he sits and watches TV all day instead of just sleeping. A diagnosis might allow someone to better understand their life, but it's not a free ticket to curesville by any means. Now, if people in fandom are treating it like that then I think you have a right to complain, but if not, I don't see how simply attaching a label to someone's issues changes or devalues their experiences in any way. They still had the same struggles, did the same thing, there's just a name for it now.
