Petty, but I swear the past 200 times I've waited for FS to be active and have lots of threads, it hasn't.

So I check yesterday, and it doesn't. I go off. I come back five hours after anyone cares anymore, and it turns out the one time I don't check, all the good threads happened.

I realize it's petty, but it was disappointing.

I feel like that happens to me a lot, whenever I'm on time and ready to post, there are no secrets I have an opinion about and nothing going on in the GC.

But on days I can't come or am late, all the discussions I want in on happen.

I don't want my favourite character from a prequel series to be the deuteragonist's genitor in the main series, damnit. All the hints point to it, but I headcanoned him as maybe gay probably asexual and I really don't want him to have had a ~love story~ with a girl that was only here to be fridged. Gah.

SA; Also, whoever the genitor turns out to be I refuse to call him a "father". If you leave a girl when her son is still an infant and run away from raising him, then you're not a father.

There's a growing dislike and scorn of movie critics these days and I'm just kind of ... they're not telling you WHAT to like. They're looking at movies on a technical level and a personal one. Hence "It was trash but I liked it."

Ehhh. I agree in principle, but at the same time, I think movie critics in general are pretty bad at doing that stuff. They kinda deserve a lot of the criticism.

I've got a month and a half to finish my planned-out, multiple-chaptered fic that I've been trying to write for the past year, because I know it's going to get Jossed so fucking hard when the new season of the show comes out, and I'll probably just give up on it then. The problem is is that I'm super blocked on it and trying to write it is like pulling teeth. There's no way it'll be even remotely done in time. It makes me feel fucking useless.

SW sequel fandom needs to take a chill pill the size of Carrie's decorative Prozac one.

Listen to them and every character and relationship are ruined forever seven months prior to the actual movie release.

Over the last three weeks or so I've posted a few chapters of a 50k+ fic in my (relatively) small fandom. So far I've received 6 (anon) kudos, which is about average for said fandom over that amount of time.

Someone else has just posted a 1k oneshot, same pairing, and has already got 4 (anon) kudos. It's not badly written, but there are a lot of SPAG issues and it's a bit unoriginal/trite. I'm always grateful for new fic, and am genuinely pleased that someone else is enjoying writing my OTP, and I'm not even THAT bitter that she's got over half my kudos in no time at all... (I am a bit, obvs.)

But I feel all disillusioned now, like mine just isn't that good. I thought it was, and I was quite proud of it. I'm hoping it's just because it's long, and people prefer oneshots...

I'm worried that I won't be able to get my license as soon as I want because I don't have a car of my own (or someone) to practice driving with. But, I had my second lesson and the guy said I wasn't doing too bad. I just can't quit my job until I get my license and that jobs makes me feel like I am losing my mind.

Secret 7 got me thinking about how I have the same issue in fandom with people assuming that if you like something "problematic," you don't know it's problematic and they need to tell you that it is. For one instance, it'd be so nice to be able to talk about one of my favorite characters in a certain fandom, but on tumblr the fandom doesn't get that it's possible to discuss him except for "Uuummmmm you know he did something skeevy and the narrative didn't address it? That's fucked up sweetie." Fucking shitballs YES I know, because any idiot could tell that part was written badly and I have never said that it wasn't because I'm not an idiot and I don't need to be educated about it, so can we move the fuck ON already?

I'm frustrated that there are very few places to have discussions about Doctor Who that don't somehow devolve into Moffat hate. I just want to talk about how much I love Bill and 12 and love this season without it descending into talks about how Moffat sucks and can't do anything right.

Like, I love Bill Potts so much. She may be my favorite companion. But I avoid places where discussions happen for the most part because of all the negativity.

I've been sick for slightly over a week now and I hate everything.
Also I'm pretty worried that I'll lose my job, and it's the first job I've found in about three years, so there's that.

Yeah, so.

My bro lent me his car to go to college, I get to college and JESUS CHRIST WHY WOULD YOU CHARGE 24 BUCKS FOR 1 HOUR OF COLLEGE PARKING?! So I ended up going out to look for another parking spot, got super wet, drove through a frigging tempest and ended up just skipping classes and returning home.

The lesson here is that my college needs their own parking lot instead of using the one where they charge us an arm and a leg. And they would have charged me 30 bucks if I hadn't pay with a credit card.
