An assistant librarian/clerk/copyist of some sort. I currently work in a public library, but I'm not a librarian yet. In actual medieval Europe the closest job would probably be a monk in a scriptorium, except I'm female. Were there nuns or any other women who worked extensively with books? In a high fantasy setting, I don't suppose it matters.

I'd be dead. I'd be a nun who treated highly infectious diseased pilgrims. That is probably a death sentence in any medieaval-type setting.

Documenting ancient ruins of the First and Second Ages. Checking for any magical artifacts in the way before the new road gets built. Deciphering ancient runes. Occasionally digging up dead people and reburying them somewhere else out of the way and hoping the remains don't magically re-animate during transport.

Am I alone in thinking it would be kinda awesome for Hollywood to do a live action remake of Ferngully? The new environmental movement is just picking up steam and I think that it could really piggyback the Disney liveaction movies as well as tap into the Fantasy/Superhero genre.

Just who would we cast? I have no idea who the bright young things are in Hollywood, and Tim Curry is too old to be Hexus now. Judi Dench would be great as Magi though.
