I cannot, for the life of me, get into One Piece. At all. I've watched the anime AND read the manga. It just doesn't appeal to me. I tried watching it again at her insistence but it still just doesn't grab me. She knows this, but will still bring up the fact that I should try to get into it. I love her to death, but man I wish she'd just stop.

Also: It's just a phrase. I'm not *actually* going to punch her.

120. If you actually watch the series or hear more about it, Kamina eventually says later on with the series, "Don't believe in me that believes in you. Believe in yourself that believes in you." Sometimes, you do need someone who hold you up and there's nothing wrong with that because you can't be strong all the time. It's a lesson you will eventually learn.

122. Not everyone needs to be paired up, granted this is rampant in canon too. Some love because it's fun and/or enjoy thinking how the relationship will fold out with the twp people get more intimate with each other. After all, we're bred with the constantly message of finding your soulmate and one true love.

Forgiveness and fandom get along as well as oil and water. That's why I (mostly) got out of it. Perusing this community is the most I do anymore. Otherwise, I stay away because I know in a lot of cases people in fandom have issues no one can be expected to handle over the internet.

I think Stephen King compared it to the way terminal cancer patients deal with their fate in his nonfiction book Danse Macabre. I think the analogy was quite accurate.

i don't know who this character is, but your story is a lot like mine, except with a different fictional character. i'm just constantly disappointed by rl boys and all anyone ever does is ask if i have a boyfriend yet and look shocked and exclaim "but you're pretty!" when i say no, liker that is all that is actually relevant to the idea of a partnership.

i think awesome fictional men might have ruined my chances for becoming attached to a real one. they just pale so much in comparison. D:

120. Gurren Lagann is a mecha parody, so it kind of falls flat if you're not familiar with the genre. I always liked Kamina and that line because it's so silly and over the top, and I figure it's used half-jokingly. And in the end, Kamina does tell Simon to believe in himself.

128. Why not? MGS is great, but it still makes fun of itself. You get a serious, dramatic cutscene and then someone spends 10 minutes shitting their pants. Also that is one of the best OT3s ever.

131. MGS4 is the first MGS game I've ever played, and even I thought Snake/Otacon was obvious. I think Kojima might ship it.

139. I don't have any IRL friends that like anime, either. I've tried to meet other people who like it, but they've all been... either creeeepy or weaboo fangirls.

141. If you screw up, the best you can do is apologize profusely and lay low for a while. Fandom (and the internet in general) doesn't forget easily, especially since it's so easy to go back and revisit things.

Big Boss/Ocelet/Eva has instantly became my ULTIMATE OT3 of all times XDDD

Ocelot/Big Boss is semi-canon now IMO, though it's a one sided thing on Ocelot part. ( and by semi-canon I mean it's heavily impalied but not OMG IN YOUR FACE CANON! ).

according to Kojima : 'Snake and Ocelot, from the first moment they set eyes upon each other, they both fell into liking with each other. It is a pure love'. <<< HIS words, not mine XDDD

and I think Eva once mentioned that Ocelot 'idealizied' big boss and was 'infatuated' by him ( AKA : had a gigantic mancrush on XD ).

PFFFF it's funny because I never ever cared that much for MGGS slash ( and slash in general to be honest), but the overwhelming slashy subtext in the MGS4 just broke my gaydar XDDD

I also LOVE how Eva seems to have grown pretty close to Ocelot since the events of MGS3 X3

Long version: One of my biggish fan forums routinely ganks pictures OFF A PERFECTLY GOOGLEABLE JAPANESE WEBSITE SRSLY, and I'm torn between keeping my mouth shut and alerting the artist. On one hand, there's not a shred of credit given to the original artist, and they never ask permission (got one of *my* pics ganked too, tysm)--otoh, the BNF I know are like ninja rabbits, and will scarper posthaste if someone messes with their site/work. And I LIKE that site where it is. It's full of kyoote.

The old guard have grown up and left the fandom, and DARNIT, if you stand between Mweeble and the best non-pr0nny fanart to date, gods help you all.

As one of the people who used to try and alert fanartists (esp. the ones I know in Jfen), it's a labor of work and heartache that I just cannot do anymore. Because the Japanese artists get sad (and I HATE seeing them sad like that), and the westernfen just think you are being an asshole.
