122. I can’t speak for everybody here, but I find interactions between characters to be very telling of their character, and…well, I just don’t know, but it spices up an otherwise bland story sometimes. That, and it gives me a good reason to be in fandom.

108. I don't see any problem with self-insert stories, as long as the writer knows exactly what they are, and that they aren't going to be loved by other people. 116. You're free not to see it, I'm just not sure how you don't. XD If you're into Clamp, you do realize how their relationships go, right? I'm not one to call canon, but I think KuroFay is as canon as most of Clamp's side-ships get- hell, as most of Clamps ships get. Certainly almost as much so as Touya/Yukito, and those two are undeniably canon. Clamp just has an odd way of handling canon relationships (one which I personally love, the idea of a romance that can clearly state that it's romance without loud declarations of love and a kiss at the end ♥).

120. ... uh-huh. You've seen one episode and heard one line, and automatically know what it's all about? Bull.

Kamina says that line to Simon when his adoptive little brother is FREAKING OUT. Can't do what he needs to do level freaking out. Can't, at that moment, do it just because he has to, and keeps saying that he can't do it- he DOESN'T BELIEVE IN HIMSELF. So Kamina says- okay then. Believe in me. And I believe in you. SO DO IT. It's what Simon needs at that point, and it gets them through an emergency situation much more quickly than trying to convince him "NO SIMON YOU'RE AMAZING JUST BELIEVE IN YOURSELF" would have done. They didn't have time for that.

That wasn't his most inspirational line. That was his catchiest. (That's also one of his funniest, to me- just because it is so borderline-nonsensical.) Before he dies, do you know what he says to Simon?

"Don't believe in me. Don't believe in the me who believes in you. Don't believe in the you who believes in me. Believe in yourself."

Maybe that's the "real inspiration" you're looking for. And you know what? Sometimes, leaning on someone, having someone tell you, "I'm here for you, and I know you can do this," is a good damn thing. No man is an island etcetera.

So check your facts before you get all bent out of shape over something. It'll save your blood pressure more than taking taking a cartoon, much less a cartoon you've never even seen, as a Big Damn Deal, believe me.

122. God, this is either a troll or someone who hasn't paid attention to the amount of secrets stating this EXACT THING before. If you think shipping is stupid, what do you think if someone is writing an original story? Should they keep pairings out of it entirely, because that's implying that people need to be "paired up"? No? Do you think people might just enjoy things like that, seeing people connect, maybe get some happy feelings from seeing people interacting and growing closer like that? Yes?

Guess what? Same for fandom. So if you don't want to ship, fine, don't. It's not your idea of a fun time, and you're in the fandom for fun. But don't get all holier-than-thou at people who do ship just because they're enjoying fandom in a different way than you. It just makes you look like a jerk who can't handle that other people have a different opinion.

If you're just annoyed because people "don't understand" why you don't ship and try to push their opinion onto you, then I'm sorry, that's crappy of them. You don't have to ship if you don't want to, just enjoy yourself. But don't judge other people for it; that's all we ask.

They find they like things now that they didn't before. I used to not see the point of OT3s and get squicked a bit by incest, but I enjoy those just fine now. It's even more irritating because the little genderswitch fanart I have been able to find of him has him as, like... really womanly. With hella long hair, sizable boobs, visible thong, etc. I want Yuusuke genderswitch that doesn't alter his actual appearance much. Which is probably due to the fact that I think his character design in the anime is kind of feminine as it is. Heh.

I AM TEMPTED TO TRY DRAWING THIS even though my artistic skills are mediocre at best. If I ever actually do I'll link you to it. ^^0

141. Well, if you're lucky, you/your slip up will be largely forgotten in a few years. (A few weeks/months if you're really lucky). It also depends on who you get pissed off and/or laughing at you, who you hang out with, and how big your slippage is. If you commit some of the bigger fandom sins, forget it...

... Or just you can just find good fandom friends who just don't care what the big communties, wank communities, whatever think of you.

I've found fandom to be a largely vicious place, but there are kind people in it, and you have a good thing if you find them. (I wanna go hug my online friends now)

I never really wanted fic like this until this pairing, but now I'm enamored with the idea. I'm not sure whether the sudden interest is because I've matured, because my tastes are changing, or because they're not teenagers to begin with. Or maybe it's just because I believe that they, out of all of my OTPs, could actually be that couple that grows together and balances each other out in every way.

Because she was a worse actress than Jessica Alba in Season 1 of Dark Angel. A block of petrified wood would have shown more believable emotion. Plus the character was as much of a useless screaming ninny as Mel, the Sixth Doctor's companion.

If they had cast for ability rather than appearance and willingness to strip down and snog Jensen Ackles on camera, the character would not have nearly the same enduring annoyance.

(I've since seen retcons incorporating her lack of acting ability into her character as a kind of emotional distance thing where her lack of normal emotional expression is part of the reason Dean tells her about the job, and it seemed reasonable, but still, bad acting is bad acting.)

The sheer amount of people getting their panties in a twist over this is incredible.

I didn't like the first episode of the show, either. So, I quit watching it. Admittedly, I don't go around talking about how much the show sucks, but I have made it clear to people encouraging me to watch it that I'm just not interested. If these comments are anything to go by, even not liking the show is a cardinal sin.

Guess what? I don't care if Simon grows up. I don't care if Kamina's death spurs him to greater heights. I'm still just plain not interested. Nothing about the show drew me in. I was bored through the entire first episode. And honestly, if a show hasn't snagged me by the end of episode 1, it's probably never going to, and I quit right then. Why is this such a problem? It's how I watch all anime, so it's not like I'm just anti-TTGL or anything.

Seriously, guys, wow. Heaven forbid someone not like something.

P.S.: They are still allowed an opinion. Just because you disagree with it or find it dumb doesn't mean they don't have a right to voice it!
