I HATE SUPERNATURAL.

I HATE SUPERNATURAL. I PERSONALLY, THINK THAT BOTH LEADS ARE SHIT ACTORS.
Sorry, I felt the need to express an opinion nobody seems to share.
*awaits attacking from fandom*
sorry guys, I don't have anything against people who like it, just...ugh.

I'm one page ahead of you. I used to think the show was just brain dead distraction, I love bad acting and hilarious plots, and Supernatural is full of it. I can tell that the Fandom is far more scary.

I just wish Rifftrax would get a hold of Supernatural--it would be awesome.

Actually, Yuki admitted that he had been flirting with Tohru in the beginning, but only because he was in denial about having an affection toward her that was similar to a child's to their mother.

Unless I read it wrong? ;;;

117 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-27 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Does that really make sense to you? Think about it. He has a lingering feeling that he feels maternal affection towards this girl and yet he continues to flirt with her? Isn't that a little bit wtf?

God, to really go into this we'd have to analyse Yuki's psyche and I really don't want to do that.

101. Indeedy. As would mine. (Does anyone else think that this would be an epically awesome crossover fic idea?)
106. It’s easy to do, with all the fanfic and what not. But it’s sad that the canon gay doesn’t get more fandom love…
103/122 OTP!!!
124. HOUSHIN ENGI SECRET I used to love that anime!
138. Me neither. And agreed with you on the “yaoi for yaoi’s sake” part.

107. I actually agree with you. While I do think the person has the right to wear that bag in public, it's just plain tacky. I don't know if I would get all that offeneded but still, tacky.

109. Family Guy sucks so hard now. Which is terribly sad because it used to be so hilarious. But yeah. The bajillon flashbacks per episode aren't the only thing wrong with Family Guy today.

128. I don't really have an opinion on Speed Racer (maybe I would have more warm feelings towards it if my best friend knew when to shut the fuck up about it). But I agree. That would be the most awesomest thing ever. Sign me up!

143. Leave it to Disney to realize your weird fetishes, lol.

TB!1, TB!2, 147

[identity profile] j-a-lie.livejournal.com 2008-06-26 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
TB!2: I like it because the cast is over the top. But hey, when you just can't die there's bound to be a few screws loose.

TB!1: As long as you remember that Asians are also humans with flaws and are just different in their quirkiness, I think we can handle people being all curious and gushing about our culture.

147. I don't think I'll ever understand how people can hate a piece of work that doesn't overstep some politically-correct grounds or do anything to people. Of course you're going to alienate some people; your reason for hating that game is not sympathetic enough.

So, I'm not allowed to dislike this plate of liver and onions because it was well-prepared and didn't give me a terrible stomach virus?

Uh...what?

Why can't you just dislike it because you dislike it? Why does it have to be wrong on a social level for dislike to be okay? O_o

I cannot write sex scenes of any sort. Really can't. I've tried, they end up horrible. I tried starting this and even the opening bit where nothing is happening yet is horrible. This bunny is in the wrong brain, and it's frustrating the crap out of me. :(

[identity profile] faylinn-drake.livejournal.com 2008-06-26 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
107. I think the part of this secret that made me go 'whut?' the most is the fact that the secret maker specified that he/she works at a 'fancy, upscale retail store'--is the secret about the bag itself or about the bag showing up in that particular type of setting? Because if it's just about the bag itself, the rest seems unnecessary and just makes the secret-maker (most likely unintentionally) come across as a snob IMO. You can take your hentai bag into Wal-Mart, but not into a fancy store.

'I saw someone with this bag in public, and I was disgusted that they would advertise their porn preference for the world to see' probably wouldn't have gotten as much wank as 'OMG weeaboos, keep your hentai bag out of my fancy place of employment!'

I think the point of the secret should be in larger text than the extraneous information about your jeorb.

But, of course, YMMV.

Re: 107

(Anonymous) 2008-06-27 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
I can't be sure, as I'm not the OP, but I think the point that she was trying to get across was that proclaiming your love of porn (and a lot of people here seem to be overrating how ~secret~ and ~edgy~ the term hentai is) in a public setting not associated with pornography is kind of creepy or lame, whereas if she was wearing it to a yaoi convention it'd obviously be a different story.

(Anonymous) 2008-06-26 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
#151 - I want to write it for you.

151 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-27 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE? :D I just posted an anon request for it over on a site related to a DW one I was pointed at upthread, [livejournal.com profile] kinky_torchwood.

[identity profile] arwydd.livejournal.com 2008-06-26 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
123 - Oh man, I completely agree with every single word of this secret (except I also think the show is pretty cool XD). Goku has such a pure heart and loves everything so completely, it's impossible not to get caught up in his (admittedly naive) worldview and it's impossible not to love him! I will always look back fondly on the deep and true relationships between those characters. It's beautiful.

132 - A-FUCKIN-MEN!

153 - Wow, I don't think I've ever seen a Megatokyo secret before! And as for the secret itself - I'm pretty sure that's how it's supposed to be. XD Fred is all about keeping 98% of the plot a mystery. (Then again, I haven't checked on it for going on 3 1/2 years now, but judging by your secret, it hasn't changed much!) That said - holy crap! Is that Kimiko??? She looks different.

not!secret 6 - AHAHAHA HEDGIE, YOU GOT CALLED OUT! XDDD

[identity profile] antiva.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
112. Because that helped to unravel the plot? Do you have some problem with her or something? XD;;

117. Lol yeah, I was kinda bzuh at the whole motherly affection spin. It didn't fit at all, like the mangaka had to create a reason why Yuki didn't like Tohru. :\

133. ROFL.

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
112. Because... she is? Seriously, why do you think the June is "endless" to begin with? The entire story is about her struggle to stay alive with everyone else, it's really not that surprising that she would be the focus since... yeah, the plot sort of revolves around keeping Rika and everyone else alive (ESPECIALLY Rika, since in certain arcs her death signals the immediate deaths of everyone else).

I guess it's kinda offputting since she has practically no role in the first season until the middle/ending arcs, but that's just the way it was presented. I always thought if anyone in Higurashi was the "main" character, it was Rika.

/goes back to reading the rest of the post.

116 + 141

[identity profile] orchida.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
116 - I agree wholeheartedly. Lulu's just kinda lost the plot now in what his original desire was. It bugs the hell out of me that this season so far seems to have focused less on Suzuku's side and his means of going about changing society. Nevermind all that crazy stuff they hinted at with him and some sort of reaction to CC. We get more shots of Kallen's boobs per episode...

141 - Urgh, I just feel sorry for the guy. He's not funny in the slightest and everyone's pretense that he is does not win him any points.

123, 137, 138, 146, 151

[identity profile] acaciabrown.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 12:03 am (UTC)(link)

123: Haha old school DBZ lover here too, god yes, wasn't it awful? But like all shounen classics it was the relationships that kept it going. Even if Goku was an utter ass. Krillin and Goku had such a close relationship, then Piccolo and Gohan and Goku and Vegeta and Yamcha and .... I still love the way they interacted hell I got into fandom and writing via DBZ and I guess I owe that series everything. I guess it changed my life in a way ... haha how embarrassing, it made me realize, more than anything else, I wanted to write. And the level and depth of the emotions he expressed between the characters in that series inspired me when I was oh, 11? So don't be embarrassed, embrace it! <3

137: I too thought this was a very silly series, I too love Sci-fi and Mythology, I refused to watch it, I walked out of rooms it was playing in or I would turn the TV off, or I'd listen to music until it was over.

Then I saw season 3, episode 10 and everything changed.

Honestly now I can say despite being a hard core sci-fi lover, I've watched Star Trek (all series) Farscape, X-files, Firefly, Battle Star Galactica, it's turned into one of my very favourites. I dismissed it as being petty, and stupid ... and I found myself to be wrong.

It's not for everyone, but if you're not giving it a fair chance, you might be pleasantly surprised.

138: They might be yaoi shippers wearing slashers goggles looking for a reason to ship them but there was a lot of subtext between them. Chained together? Rivals with the same intellect, and a burning passion to defeat the other one? Don't tell me that's not hitting some kink of powerplay, one or the other would have loved to have dominated the other one sexually. It just fits with both their egos. Jesus they can still hate each others guts, but don't deny they'd have the hottest 'chained together, I hate you Kira, I hate you L' sex EVER. Did you not read/see the tennis match? It was like porn .

147: Bad cosplayer or not, HE WAS AN AWESOME L!

151 My dear, why not dump your plotbunnies at our Torchwood Kink meme [livejournal.com profile] kinky_torchwood and let someone else do the writing for you, or surf the meme for the kinks that fit your description and have already been filled out? :'D you're not the only one trust me, that series does weird things to peoples minds.

WHY did I know now about this?

#122, #131, #134

[identity profile] radiopowered.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 12:25 am (UTC)(link)
122. I'm assuming you like seeing Simon failing to deal with crippling depression. That, or you're just a huge bastard.

How anyone could not see how badly Simon needed someone like Nia is beyond me.

131. Take out Fai, and I agree completely. If they ever kill off Kurogane, I'm done with the series. :|

134. I'm an avid Kaiba/Jounouchi fan, but I agree with you on how much more sense Kaiba/Yami makes. There's more stability to the pairing, there's more of a sense of equality. The rivalry is seen both ways; if you shove Kaiba's huge ego out of the way, he has a large amount of respect for Yami, and vice versa. I never really felt any kind of "hate" between the two. They were just being testosterone driven males hell bent on one-upping the other to prove something to themselves (though Kaiba was more aggressive and literal in this cause. Yami pretty much just sat back and took the punches, blocking them one by one of course).

With Kaiba/Jounouch however, everything is terribly chaotic and one-sided. Kaiba has no open respect for Jou. He isn't even worth a glance let alone a dueling match. You almost feel bad for Jounouchi, it's... pathetic in a way, how absorbed and obsessed he can be with getting some type of advantage on Kaiba. Beating him in a duel, beating him in an argument, beating him in a staring contest (work with me here). He wants to show him that he's not some third-rate duelist, that he's not as low-level as Kaiba thinks he is. I mean, if you were in his shoes, I'm pretty damn sure you'd try everything you could to get the asshole who thought you were lower than dirt to take back his words (unless you've got self-esteem issues, which complicates my metaphor a lot). Call me a hopeless idiot, I'm sure other people do, but I actually think Kaiba has a tiny tiny tiny minuscule feeling of respect for Jou. Okay, maybe you wouldn't call it respect (pity works perhaps?) He doesn't show it, you can't find it, and he'd be insane to tell himself it was there, but if you want the pairing to work, you have to tell yourself that it just might be there. Be open, think outside the box.

I can't force my opinion of why Kaiba/Jounouchi has some type of sense, as much as Kaiba/Yami would have, because there's a chance you might not care in the end. I can understand that. Just understand that, there is sense to be made; it works if you take their personalities, their characters apart. The only real thing I ever try to get people to focus on to at least understand that the pairing has a chance, is that Kaiba and Jounouchi don't hate each other. They just... aren't terribly fond of each other.

122

[identity profile] kiokushitakaa.livejournal.com 2008-06-27 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. The only thing about Nia that annoyed me was when she was possessed by the Spirals and wasn't the cute, lovable Nia we had met originally. :(

I like to hope, and honestly really don't think it will happen though. CLAMP has just invested too much into them to just kill them off for the angst factor -- spent too much time on them both learning their life lessons. I think they will both have happy endings.
