I dont know if the OP of 129 will see this. But I wanted to say, I know what you mean but I think the few female characters pixar has had have been very cool IMHO. like eve in WALL E and the Mom and daughter in the Incredibles. and Jesse in Toy story 2. that being said you shall get your wish for a female protagonist in a pixar film in 2011, barring any changes from now to then. Apparently pixar/disney is coming out with a film called "the bear and the bow" and protagonist will be a woman named Merida. So yay! :D

This just adds to my theory that people who liked Rose in S1 but hated her in S2 are just jealous fangirls who're annoyed that she got close to Ten because David Tennant is just that hot.

LOL WUT. Please say you're not serious. The idea that no one could find any reason to dislike S2!Rose other than jealousy that she gets to...what? Hold DT's hand?!...is so hilariously out of touch with reality. And I say that as someone who liked S2!Rose perfectly fine.

Don't feel bad. I'd be like that, too. I can't stand horror movies. I mean, Snakes on a Plane creeped me out. And just reading about Carved has me looking over my shoulder every five minutes, too.

I vividly remember watching this movie when I was 10 years old. My friend and I would rewind the part where human!Beast turns around for the first time and pee ourselves laughing, because we thought he was fug too. Good call.

Could barely read this but I managed because I love Tosh so much. And this is a wonderful secret. I agree so fucking hard.

I'm not gonna lie here -

I always find male characters to be superior to female ones in movies. I just feel like male characters just fit lead roles better. Woody, Flick, all those guys. And I'm a chick, but I just disagree with you entirely here. Sure, these movies have cool female characters. But I don't think they're ever suited to the lead role.

'The Bear and the Bow' - 2011

I'm very proud of Pixar creating great female leads like Dory, Helen, Edna, and Eve and it shows they can definitely make a great female protagonist. Let's hope it still works for this film.
