I only got into QAF very recently, and I was disappointed with the finale - I didn't know it was going to end that way, and part of me wishes I'd never finished it and instead made up my own ending to begin with.

I'm fine with them not moving into the mansion in the country and having horses or whatever (that would be a bit much to be honest), but if you're going to keep the relationship going for five seasons, sort of dropping it in a half-assed way in the finale is stupid.

It's like there was no ability to compromise. It had to be the marriage and the house in the country and totally giving up their lives - or nothing at all? Um, no, try again, PTB. At least end things with a bit more optimism than 'we might never see each other again' if you've spent five seasons jerking them around.

I plan on re-watching the series from start to finish, and I'm sure I'll come to terms with a lot of things I didn't like about the ending (not just Brian and Justin, by any means), but I really think most of the storylines could have been resolved better. Maybe if the final season had more than 13 episodes...

117. I wish people would stop comparing them. They are such completely different Doctors that I just don't think it's fair to compare them.

139. I've loved all the Doctors I've seen so far; I'm sure I'll love Eleven, too. (And I do recommend watching some Classic stuff! It's fun to get more caught up on old companions. And to laugh at the bubble wrap and cardboard.) But I know how you feel. I don't want to be that NuFan, but oh god, don't want to lose My Doctor.

156. I'm sure David Tennant, more than anyone, knows EXACTLY how nuts we are, given that he's been in this fandom himself for years. (Which always leads me to wonder about how much of it he avoids now.)

However, it's not a complete impossibility for people to flip out when they discover what their fandom has been up to. There's a REASON people get nervous, you know. It's happened before. Plus, as someone else said, it's just an asshole thing to do. "Hey, here's a link to a site full of sappy love stories and amateur porn featuring your character and likeness!" Who the fuck DOES that?

157. I snickered. If you think there's much left for Moffat to ruin, you must not have seen the finale yet. RTD already set this pairing ablaze in a trash can! Making the fact that she's overshadowed the whole series an even BIGGER insult to the other characters than it already was, since it wasn't even worth it.

Also, the Doctor having a One True Love is just...short-sighted at best. Doctor/Rose is something special, sure. But as someone on my friends list says, "You can't OTP the Doctor."

Hilarious sidenote: I was genuinely confused as to why Donna was not on your secret. Then I remembered, OH YEAH, the "official" line is that DoctorDonna is "platonic," because we're supposed to overlook Ten having more chemistry with Donna than he did with either Rose OR Martha. In my head, more people recognize their subtext-y friendship, wit and awesome as, "the way it should be." Rather than, "not rating a mention."
