I have two words for you: Kino's Journey.

13-episode series where every episode is self-contained and can pretty much be watched in any order you want. (Only exception to this is one 2-episode "arc.") Only thread in common is that each episode is a visit to a different country by Kino and Kino's talking, anthropomorphic motorcycle.

If, after watching a few episodes of Kino, you can come out of it thinking that all anime is 1) lousy, and 2) one huge long story (which is wrong in most cases, but everyone else has already told you that), then I have no hope for you.

117- HELL YES to both points, especially the first one :p David Tennant is SUCH a great actor, but as my friend puts it "I think Ten tries too hard...."- Tennant isn't the problem or anything, just the character.
