I'm not a fan of his, though I've always thought his interviews and essays were quite intelligent for a guy who looks like him.

I actually hung out at the University of Washington bookstore (here in Seattle) a number of years ago when he came by for a book-signing (for that book he published to a certain amount of fanfare; I can't recall the title). I wasn't in the book line myself, but I actually got close enough to notice that his black hair had strawberry-blond roots. Besides that, I recall that he was wearing these killer jewel-encrusted shades...
