Some of these cases seem kinda far-fetched. I mean, come on: http://nittakensyou.g.ribbon.to/kensyou04.html - I've seen hundreds of pictures like this, and I'm sure I have at least a couple of those in my photoalbum as well. The pose, the expressions, the hands, the fingers - nothing matches, actually.

And most of the examples are like this: http://nittakensyou.g.ribbon.to/kensyou07.html - so, my conclusion is that she did flick through all those magazines to find nice poses, but she's not as much of a tracer as people want to believe.

BTW, the first part of your secret? Totally agreed with every single word.

It's really easier to ban all the stupid posters/readers who prefer to wank over kid's cartoons and dumb TV series.

I wonder...before people in your fandom accuse each other of tracing, do they attempt to re-size the photo or drawing so they match, and then lay them overtop each other in Photoshop? Because that would be the really obvious way to tell if they are ACTUALLY TRACES. Because if they were ACTUAL TRACES, the lines would match up.

Those look HIGHLY unlikely to be traces to me.

Asking because, well, people are FUCKING STUPID. I'm in House fandom, and a while back a popular fanartist was accused of tracing screencaps. The people accusing her did just what seems to be happening up there - i.e. they put the caps beside the drawings, and pronounced them traces.

Guess what? Your eyes CAN and frequently DO fool you. That's what your eyes are designed to do. If our eyes DIDN'T do that, our vision wouldn't work.

And if you took this fanartist's work and laid it overtop the caps, they were WAY OFF. But people were insisting, based on visual inspection alone, that they were, "exact matches!"

Think about it.

Sam just seems too protected by the others for me to ever wrap my head around them sexing him up... but since Dean was kind of parentified, and less protected, I could kinda see it with him and John.
