Also, in this post: 22 anime/manga related secrets, and that's counting the anime-ish video games, the live-action adaptations of anime series, and the I-never-want-to-see-another-anime-secret secrets. Out of 80 secrets, that's 27.5 percent. There are days when it's 27.5 percent non-anime, too, but I think it all balances out. Maybe that's just me and my functioning scroll wheel.

*Shoots self in face* Oh goddd now everyone is going to start debating the issue. I really find that people get more pissy when arguing over whether or not we should be discussing serious issues than when they actually are discussing them.

(And, serious response: I do like to relax in fandom. But relaxing, to me, doesn't include ignoring things I think are important. I love my shows and books and whatever. That's why I care if they're sexist/racist/etc. I want to be able to love them more and not have to feel like the creators think those kind of things.

I mean, as annoyed as you get when a thread turns into srs business, imagine how annoying it must be to be enjoying something without thinking about anything serious, and then, bam, your favorite female character starts dating a guy and her personality disappears. People (most people) aren't talking about things like that just to bring everyone down. They're doing it because it's really important to them, and they can't ignore it.)

170 - I'm pretty sure he was hated in S1 as well, but let's not go into it. I'm sure there are a lot of people who love Suzaku, they're just not as loud as the ones who hate him. 149 - Hang in there. It is tough, but fandom is an awesome motivator. I didn't have APD but I was intensely shy and socially anxious when I got involved in fandom, and it's really helped me come into my own. Good encounters with folks in fandom helped me have good encounters in other parts of my life, too.

126. Same. I think this might be because they are usually shown to be all ~*rainbows and sunshine*~ and I like a lot of aggression and sexual tension rather than hand holding and blushes.

131. The only time I like Remus/Tonks is if their relationship originally began as comfort!sex after Sirius' death (because they both loved him) and then slowly developed into something more. Unfortunately, that's not how it was written in the books. D:

124. Agreed! I love Sephiroth, but I've never held him in high regard as an evil mastermind because so much of what he does might just be the product of mind-controlling JENOVA crazies. Seymour, despite his really unfortunate costume and hairstyle, is definitely a free agent, and he actually plots.

I remember deciding that Miyako was clearly running a crime empire on the sly (which, given that Ken was a detective, could totally lead to adversarial tension! but I'm not sure if this occurred to me), because there's no way she would be content to just be Ken's wife.

I really like Suzaku as a character, as others do. He's a fascinating study.

Seriously though... Anime is a method of story telling just like live action, clay animation, computer animation, etc. It's not one specific series or genre. Other than the slight excess of Death Note secrets, there's quite a good deal of variety in the subjects of the anime secrets.
