I'm sure other have already said something to this sort, but Japan isn't all about weaboo.

Apocalyptica has been "mainstream" a long time now in Finland. My grandparents can recognise them without even trying, for christ's sake. Best thing for the OP to do is to stop caring about what's mainstream and what's not.

There is a HUGE subset of fandom for Chad/Ryan. Do a livejournal search and you'll find some great communities for them.

They really are the true pairing of the movies.

I'd never seen this review before & I just laughed so hard I cried.

128. I kinda ship Hook/Wendy in that movie too. They create a sexual tension there. And Jason Isaacs' Hook is sexy. Plus Hook is one of my favorite villains. But when it comes to Peter Pan in general (not just that one particular movie) I ship Peter/Wendy; I just love those two!

It's depicting a shipwrecked crew that turned to cannibalism in order to survive. Those pale, naked bodies? Yeah. They're dead. The event is something that really happened so the painting created a lot of negative controversy when it was first shown to the public.

The slash pairing would be something like cannibal-necrophiliac/corpse.

And since when did that ever discredit it or anything from being a fandom? Last I recalled, facetious as it may be, fandom wasn't constrained by genres. :\ Musicals, video games, game shows, from those wolf packs to horse rps, and and, and.

119. I agree that in the movie version, Nobu/Sayuri made so much sense. He was also pretty good-looking, scars and all (not how I pictured him at all, but I liked him, and I was really thrilled with Watanabe as the Chairman).

I feel much differently about the book. I’ve read it so many times, and at the beginning I wanted her to see Nobu for the worthy man he was, and look past the Chairman. (Regardless of how things turned out relationship-wise, I didn’t like the ending.) But the last time I reread it, Nobu came off as much more selfish and controlling than he’d seemed before. My sight may have been colored by the movie before, but now I don’t revere Nobu in the same way.

At the same time, I adore them both and I wish they could have been allowed to continue the friendship aspect of their relationship.

(As for me, I’m minoring in Japanese Language for teaching purposes and I’m def still part-weeaboo >.> I did not enjoy Gamers when I was in Japan, though. My friends did. That’s when I realized my weeabooity was draining out.)

Rilo Kiley secret~! I think it's only the second one I've ever seen. I got into them because a friend loved them, but I was also totally excited when I found out Blake was the guitarist.

117 - I assume by main pairing you mean Colin and Ryan? Anyway, I may very well know you. I was completely immersed in the WL fandom for years (several years back)...when there were maybe 40 people in TOTAL in the fandom! I was under 20 then, but most of those in the fandom were older. Those were good times, mostly, though the drama of it all eventually pushed me away. WL was one of my favourite shows ever though, and I still miss that fandom some times :)
