114. Here we go, the big asian live-action debate.
I just want everyone to look like the characters. I don't really care what race they are, as long as they look like them and (most importantly) ACT LIKE THE CHARACTERS WELL. Now, casting a white dark-haired Katara? Yeah, that's just a no. Her and Sokka obviously have dark skin. I think Aang should be asian, because...well it just fits - he's a monk and all that. 8D But really, as long as they can play the part, that's what I'm most concerned with.

I'm confused. Is this secret about Death Note or Twilight?

Because at first I thought Death Note since apples are a recurring imagine throughout the story as Ryuk loves to eat them. But it seems odd to complain about DN since the manga has been finished for the few years now and the anime has also been over for a while; it's only a matter of time before fans move onto something else.

But then I remember Twilight which makes more sense since there's at least one more book to be released. Plus the Twilight series is pretty crappy.

I can't stand when people do that to a graphic novel or a book! I get outraged that someone would deface something as great as a book (unless it's fail). But people who do that need to be banhammered from libraries and bookstores and comic book stores, they deserve it.

101. Heh. Social awkwardness is far from unique to fandom. For a start, bores are a universal phenomenon.

I tend to avoid conventions because I feel so socially awkward, but I'm not really that klutzy, it's just social phobia. Went over to Wellington NZ for Conjunction earlier this year, and the welcoming, tolerant atmosphere made a big dent in my old fears. Thanks fandom. :-)

Fucking signed, though I think you're underestimating just how much badfic there was. It was just a matter of learning where not to go to rectify that though. I only read fic, so I was oblivious to the shipping wank.

I hate seeing people diss this fandom, because no matter how many fandoms I've been in since, nothing tops GW. Writers could take these characters and do anything with them - political dramas, soap opera-ish epics, action, supernatural AUs (God, but the fucking fantastic AUs!) The inventiveness, originality and crafting of the very best authors in that fandom were second to none. I'll go and reread something like Future of the Past, the Source of All Things or Great America, realise it's every bit as awesome as I remembered, then get all sad that it's probably never going to be finished.

Funny thing is, I kind of thought the actual show was dull. I just miss the fandom.
