Bit on the expensive side, and full of merchandising, but the food is incredibly yummy, IMO.

In the ones I've been in they give you a quiz on the movie, which is pretty amusing when you saw it once when it came out and never intend to see it again.

How is it weak, whining or incompetent to leave your home and nearly all your family and friends and go on a highly perilous, exhausting journey across several countries, with the police after you the whole time, in order to seek help from a doctor so that you can stop accidentally killing people? How is it weak or incompetent to use your power to defend yourself from a rape attempt, or deliberately kill people to free your brother from jail, or kill border patrol guards? Honestly, I get so tired of seeing people accuse Maya of being weak and whiny. Being emotional doesn't equal being weak, and it's not her fault the writers gave her a power that requires her to be emotional in the first place.

And yes, people absolutely do hate her because she interferes with slash pairings. It's not the only reason, but it's definitely a huge one.

151. I understand where you're coming from, and in general it's something I put a fair amount of thought into. In the end, though, I disagree. And partly because the problem I see with objectification is such a one way street in the media most of the time. Objectification in fandom, however, tends to be a lot more equal opportunity, and I actually think that it's often not as total. A character can be a sex object for the viewer sometimes, but that's often not all they are.

Plus, I kind of like seeing a lot of the "I'd hit it" secrets pointed at men. Not because it's some kind of gender based karmic retribution to get back at men for women being far, far, faaar more objectified in main stream culture, but because it highlights the fact that women do have sexual agency, and men can be objectified. A Female Gaze, I guess?
