Not OP, but curious: what sort of similarities do you see to New Who from Monk? They're two of my fandoms, as well. Although hmm, I guess they both do have something to do with an emotionally unstable but brilliant man who frequently travels around with young, attractive women solving mysteries....wow, that's more than I thought.

The idea: everyone does fanwork for the ship, one a day, based on prompts. There have been at least six of them...Katara/Aang, Zuko/Katara, Jet/Zuko, Toph/Sokka, Sokka/Suki, Roku/Sozin....I am probably missing some!

As someone who was raised on classical literature, and who was taught to appreciate the nuances of the English language (among others), I find all of the books to be spectacularly poorly written. The secret is a secret if only because I am friends with a large number of otherwise intelligent people who are under the impression that the books (and the associate authors) revolutionized English literature, which, I regret to inform you, they did not.

I'm 33 and am infinitely happier single than in a relationship. I haven't dated for over four years and I'm not looking to change that any time soon. (Not saying that I won't ever consider a relationship again, just that it's not one of my priorities and it won't be for some time. Fandom doesn't have much to do with it, though. It's more about me focusing on personal development. You know, you can't be happy with someone until you're happy with yourself, etc. And since this is Fandom Secrets and not lj secrets, I'll stop now.)
