YAY @ the random Pacino and Hunchback love his time around.

105:...NEED. FICS. NOW!!!!!

131: Completely and totally getcha, hun. Satan!Pacino is amazing!

154: So young!Al/Robert fic, essentially? I could get down with that!! As the Rule 34 states, their must be some fic like this already somewhere...*waits for recs*

159: BUH?!

102- I agree shay was as self absorbed as fuck, but you have to not take them out of context of their world: I world focused on being dumb and attractive isn't going to raise intelligent, caring individuals.

However, I will try to pick up that book as I love his YA writing (His Adult writing has generally left me cold)

112- You're not the only one.

137- So, you like Twilight?

146- You probably have gotten about a billion of these, but I can safely say no, they're not.

159- I haven't watched either any way through (Fail, I know) but I enjoyed Champloo more. They're both really good, but...

184- That secret made me cry, as well as some others.

137 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-08-24 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't read Twilight and have no opinion on it.

119. Nothing will convince me that the entire band isn't at least slightly gay for each other in varying permutations. Nothing.

143. Ow my childhood. But only slight ow.

N!s 1. I think all of Disney's older movies are infinitely better than their new ones, especially things like HSM.

119

when Jon first joined the band I think they were all totally gay for him, they gazed upon him with adoration :)

103. I’m the same with Twilight. While I do consider myself a fan of the books (not enthusiastically), I mainly look at the fandom’s fanmixes to find good music.

105 and 130 look like they were made by the same person.

(Anonymous) 2008-08-24 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
They probably were, but also they look the same because they were both made using roflbot. You can tell by the way they have ROFLBOT on them.

132. Awww, Monk. :(

134. I was only six when the movie came out but I knew back then I'd want whatever Belle and Beast had. I still haven't found it.

163. I get people can dislike Maya and other female characters without being sexist. However, what pisses me off in Heroes fandom and fandom in general is the fact men who are poorly written still get more attention by fandom than women who are poorly written.

183. I haven't watched the show for a very long time but I go to that journal every week for the ongoing Lost posts for the lulz.

146. I ship slash 'cause it's fun. I have no problem with being a Kinsey 2. I know even know how that works, shipping slash because you're uncomfortable with...what? Being straight? I don't get it.

[identity profile] doctor-dorothy.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
46. Um, no. Though it makes me wonder what you need "explained" about slashers. Or, now that I think of it, it doesn't. Cause that would probably lead to more generalizations.

49. Yup, I disagree. I've only watched the first season, and the first half of season two, but I always got the impression that there was a serious power imbalance in that relationship -- that Michael was way more devoted to Lincoln than Lincoln was to him. As screwed up as Sam and Dean are, I never doubt that the two of them are both devoted to each other. However, one can certainly find either relationship more interesting than the other, I guess.

Re: 46 and 49

(Anonymous) 2008-08-25 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
146. Well, I'd need all the bashing anyone who "gets in the way" explained. And the general tinhattery.

[identity profile] velvet-mace.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
101) You got a lot of time ahead of you to worry about dating and romance.

146) LOL. Not even close: I love slash, love being married, I'm happy to be a woman, I'm very comfortable in my sexuality (including kinks). I like slash because men are delicious, fascinating, sexually provocative creatures to watch, simple as that.

180) I ship Ianto/Adam, too, but I disagree vehemently with the rest of the secret. Adam had such non-con, mind-rape villainous potential, shame there's so little fic of him. I could have spun a whole season around him emotionally abusing the cast, and them working their asses off to get rid of him. All he needed was for one person to remember him. He could have spread the seeds of his existence far and wide in that 24 hours, and retconning everyone who's ever come in contact with him would be a bitch and a half!

188) Well that's a shallow reading of that comic. Yeah, if that's all you see, it's no wonder you don't like it. You managed to miss all the themes, the stylistic elements, the commentary, and the entire plot.

128. Well, gee, now that you pointed that out to everyone I'm certain they'll just stop finding it attractive instantaneously.

134. ... Guess you didn't need a lot of convincing, then.

146. I'm sure there's a decent chunk of them who are, but certainly not all.

147. Um? Panels ARE talking.

159. It's stupid to keep your opinion a secret because it isn't popular. No one's going to tar and feather you for liking one anime over another. Spine, get you one.

188. "... and all the women do is get raped/sell their bodies"

Alan Moore, LOL. Laurie did neither, actually. Shocking!

I think you're SUPPOSED to feel like Rorshach needs a slapping. I know I do. But yeah, again, you don't like something that everyone else likes. Big fucking deal, no one is going to lob a rock at your head if you de-anon.

164. OMG agreed!

177. I approve of this idea. That'd be so hot.

177 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-08-25 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It didn't start out being something I did intentionally, because I do know a fair amount of cosplayers and I don't look twice at every guy who comes my way but it is a looooooott of fun to do.

137, 146

(Anonymous) 2008-08-24 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
137. Hey now, HP and Eragon I can understand, but dude, the His Dark Materials trilogy? Really?

146. Thank god I just read it 'cause I think it's hot. (I'm not really afraid of my sexuality - much as I despise labels, the closest thing I would identify with would be pansexual. It's just that the one person I've ever been in love with didn't requite it, and I'm not quite ready to start searching yet.)

[identity profile] callmejude.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
102. While I loved the Uglies series, as well, I have to agree Midnighters is better.

137. Why is it your business if someone else likes something you don't? GOD, you know, people like you drive me INSANE. Okay, so you don't like those books. Congrats, no one's got a gun to your head forcing you to read them, so don't. But other people's interest has nothing to do with you. Going so far as to disrespect someone simply because they have different tastes than you is downright petulant. I agree that Harry Potter is overhyped (I have no opinion on the other two series in that secret, as I've never read them), but they were an important part of my childhood and helped me to cope through a really hard time in my life. I am allowed to like them, and I shouldn't have to feel embarrassed to admit how much that series meant to me because there are people like you who will automatically write me off as an idiot. I was nine years old when I got into that series, and if I enjoyed it all the way to the end that's my business. It doesn't make me immature, it doesn't make me stupid, and it doesn't mean I have bad taste in entertainment. It just means one thing: I LIKE HARRY POTTER. So stop judging people for idiotic reasons.

137 (not op)

(Anonymous) 2008-08-25 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
I agree times a million. To go off on a bit of a tangent, it reminds me of some douchebag who insisted I was a complete idiot with no respect for good literature because I mentioned that I thought the prose in A Tale of Two Cities was rather boring.

God forbid!

101. I'm 23. I've never had a boyfriend. That used to really bother me, but between one thing and another, I really don't care anymore.

107. Well, his costume's pretty basic, so I doubt you'll get a lot of "crappy" cosplayer--it's relatively hard to screw up. And he has plenty of cosplayers already; saw one last Halloween.
I think the oodles of Joker cosplays are fun.

111. I read it somewhere or I'd never know, but I was always a little disappointed. Here I thought he actually had an original name.

120. Ugh.

130. Oh. Dear. That's a little dramatically hot. Wow.

132. Awww. I wouldn't say it's a better show, just because it's so formulaic (which is just the kind of show it is, really). But I love that show. I dearly miss Sharona (though I like Natalie; I just wish Sharona had gotten a decent ending), and the Flanderization of Randall is annoying me like mad, but Monk/Trudy...aw, it's so tragic and beautifully done.

143. Now that you point it out, I think I always shipped it, even as a child. Never in any sexual way, but I just figured they were together, in that semi-romantic, we'll never acknowledge being a couple way. Runt thinks Rita's a dog anyway.

145. Was...was Balto voiced by Bacon. Oh. Ick.

157. For a second, I thought that was the episode where Lois apologises to Francis for being a bad mother and he has a panic attack because even when she acknowledges how horrible she was, nothing's better. I hate that bit, even while I think it's one of the best parts written, and it nearly makes me cry every time; I've had trouble watching it since then.

Lois is a horrible mother. Nothing will make me believe otherwise. I'd rather have Roseanne.

160. I can't really argue much with this secret. If I were the type.

180. I love Adam! (I also think it's uncanny that not too long previous, there was a red-head in Ultimate X-men named Adam who had reality-warping powers and ingratiated himself into the X-team in almost the same way. I hated that Adam, though).
I don't see how they're the same person, though.

181. As someone who grew up as an obsessive Trekkie and Star Wars fan, I have to say...
I agree 100%. Aside from the fact that Serenity just isn't really a "starship." Malcolm Reynolds=best captain ever.

188. I liked it in the same way I like...oh, I don't know, Catcher in the Rye or something. It's a classic and I appreciate it for that. It has really poignant bits in it, and brings up several good points. And I love Rorschach because he's such a drama queen. But I'll admit, when I heard it was going to be a movie, my first thought was "Oh good, maybe I'll actually enjoy it.":
Or rather, I enjoyed it while reading it. Afterwards, I was like..."Mm. Is that it, then?"

(Anonymous) 2008-08-25 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
157. I can't stand that show because I can't stand her. She's completely insane. I just want to rescue the kids. Especially Dewey. I feel more protective of him.

117 Poor Orson, he peaked too early. If you can, look for "F is for Fake" because it's fantastic.

126 It's actually about the dying American West and how socioeconomics and changing times have trapped these characters, and their sexual relationship furthers how trapped they feel. I'm sorry, though, both that "gay cowboys" led you to a period place (there are still cowboys) and that the fandom conception of the film is all about wondering why they didn't just move to San Francisco, when the entire point is that they never could have.

142 That was my FAVORITE "stories about China" story during the Olympics, seriously.

148 Me too. To me they're second only to Laura and Remington in the pantheon of mystery-solving TV couples. (I bet that's Max standing behind them, too.)

152 ♥

160 I love that we fangirls are all like, "GRANT!" and no one really is all over Tori. But then, Tori didn't win Battlebots, and Grant did.

163 Okay, I'm not in fandom but I watched season 2 and dude. Maya is just really annoying and pointless as was her brother. Claire, Elle and Monica are made of awesome. By the way, I ship Matt/Mohinder and I could give a shit about Sylar.

185 Oh TRAVIS. How I love SYTYCD season 2. *sigh*

187 I've loved the Aristocats since I was a tiny tiny thing.

Ah. No wonder Zack Snyder is directing the movie.

Re: 188

Except they don't. Sally is the victim only of attempted rape, and neither of them prostitute themselves.

And the only reason Zack Snyder got the job was because all the good directors turned it down as impossible to film.

See, I didn't see the big twist as being that the villain was one of the heroes. I just thought it was fucking awesome that it took the usual tropes of "heroes arrive just in time to save the day" and "villain explains his entire plan to the heroes who then stop it" and bitchslapped them in the face. :P

105. Frollo's obsession with Esmerelda (sp?) was so...twisted and dark...that I can't help but ship it myself. And Esmerelda hating him makes it all the sweeter. :3

[identity profile] megalixer.livejournal.com 2008-08-24 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
105. I sort of did too when I read the book. I mean, Phoebus is an asshole, Quasi has some major communication problems, and Gringoire was more interested in her goat. Frollo was a creepy stalker . . . but at least he was an, um, loyal stalker who could get his message across. Honestly, Esmeralda kind of got screwed in the 'possible love interest' department.

122. Well the upcoming movie adaption has Colin Firth and Ben Barnes so even if it sucks the amount of slash should increase exponentially ;p

150. Well I'm 16 and I still want to be a Pokémon trainer and go to Hogwarts, so it's all good.

154. Young!Pacino and Young!De Niro were totally hot :D (and a Heat fic or two would be amazing even though they weren't exactly young there either.)

167. I have the biggest voice crush on him ever! I'm such a sucker for pretty baritone voices and his is so unique and gorgeous and uurgh. Look at it this way: everyone will eventually get old and ugly ('sides, isn't he like 50ish now?) but gorgeous voices last forever.

101. PinkDress!Jon as the first secret?

Dream. Come. True.

105. Not that uncommon, actually.

111. I didn't know about the Cockney thing. The More You Know.

121. Damn. Madge looks angry. But in the good way. Me Against the Music was pretty good, though I think I prefer them separately. And with their older material.

122. BASIL/DORIAN! Henry/Dorian was kind of obvious; Henry molded Dorian to be his perfect little protégé, but Dorian got a little out of hand. I want to see some Basil/Dorian, since Basil got gypped in the book.

130. Are you the same person from 105? Another Frollo secret, Roflbot... Esmeralda/Frollo/Maleficent?

134. LOL FURFAG

Kidding. I'll always love that movie.

139. STEPHEN AND JON IN THE SAME POST BUT NOT THE SAME SECRET. WAT.

143. RITA AND RUNT! Oh, what I'd do for a voice like Bernadette Peters'...

145. HOORAY FOR BALTO AND KEVIN BACON'S VOICE ACTING!

187. Everybody wants to be a cat. Insert some joke about furries here.

188. You say space vagina, I say... Gelgamek.
