I got into my second car accident today on the way home from work, so that was a total boner killer. I'm gonna need a new side mirror, so my dad & I will be without my dad's car for a while once we take it in to get it fixed.

Otherwise, my work day was good. I got paid today, although I ended up cashing 2/3rds of my check to give my dad to put towards the damages.

My candy came in tonight. My mom helped me order $40 worth of candy from Amazon, so that is a highlight. I've got whole boxes of Zero bars & Payday bars.

I hope the rest of the weekend & next week is better.

Sick. Woke up late. Dithered all day about calling mental health services at my insurance company (been meaning to for weeks). Called. No one there. Left a message.

Got a fever at work on NYD. Still sick. Stupid cough won't fuck off and it feels like drowning. Blech.

So I've been catching up on ASOUE and playing solitaire.

Not too bad. Went to the farmer's market and stocked up on berries on veggies. I've been pretty good about trying to eat healthy for the past few weeks, but I messed up today by eating three pupusas instead of just one. I'm trying to be positive about it takes a while to successfully stick to a new eating regiment, but I'm still rather pissed because damn, I could've just eaten two today and the other tomorrow or not bought an extra two in the first place.

What it says on the tin.

Lets see, started off by not sleeping last night and by having major allergy issues. I woke up feeling just off and really terrible.

Got to work and had a credible fear review (uh, basically a pre-cursor to asylum). Lost badly to a terrible judge who even stated the law wrong. Client was sobbing the entire time she was talking. Judge did not let me even say a word, just hammered at her. He made a decision the instant she had stopped talking. No time even considering things. He'd clearly already made up his mind. And it is not appealable. There is a good chance this family is going to die back in their home country, and there is nothing I can do about it.

And the thing is, I've had bad outcomes before. You get used to them in immigration. But this one has just hit me harder. Partially because of the terrible judge. But partly because I'm a complete mess outside of it.

Anyway, didn't get much work done after that. Ended up going home early.

My mom came home this morning. Which, yay on the one hand because it is good to see her (and good not to have to drive my dad to her rehab place every day). But now I'm having to take care of both of them.

And I'm still having menopause symptoms. I see my doctor on the 14th. My mom, of course, has cranked the heat back up to 80. And there is no chance of even having a conversation with her about that. Mom sets the temperature, that's just the way it is. So I can look forward to even more hot flashes tonight when I really, really, really need a good night sleep.

I'm just fried. I'm done. There is no one I can ask for help. My parents refuse to ask for help from anyone they know outside of me and sister other than for the occasional ride. Sister has used up all her sick and vacation days, and there is no chance of her coming down here again any time soon.

Honestly, right now, if I could have one thing in the entire world, it would be to have an entire day and night by myself, in a hotel room, to sleep.

Anyway, that's my day and my life right now.

I personally love movie fusions with my favorite movies (and mediocre movies that the fic improves upon the plot of,) I think psychic and/or fortune teller AUs are tragically underappreciated & underutilized, and, given that one of my favorite fandoms is a period piece, I love modern AUs.

I have a goal this year to bake 12 new things. I've only ever baked basic things. I am looking for some ideas of things of what you think are some good things to bake!

So far, I have homemade pie crust (cherry pie) and puff pastry (croissants). But that is all I got so far. :P
