158: Being a C/D shipper you've probably already seen this, but on the off-chance you haven't: I wrote a ship manifesto for those two crazy kids (http://community.livejournal.com/ship_manifesto/206801.html). I, too, have trouble wrapping my head around the notion that they're not supposed to be a canon couple. THEIRLOVEISSOMENTALLYUNBALANCED!

(I have this image of a future story where they're both drawn into some huge fight... probably because of a crossover or something... and they're hacking their way through enemies towards each other, and as soon as they see each other, they stop dead... and Wade starts ranting at Cable for dying on him and disappearing into the future without even so much as a Facebook update, and the fight is still raging around them, and their comrades are all "uh... Nate... Wade... little help here?" and they completely ignore them... and Wade gets angrier and angrier, and Nate starts to grin, and eventually Wade snaps and say "WHAT?! What are you smiling about?" and Nate says "Oh, nothing. It's just... really good to hear your voice, Wade." And Wade just... blinks. And stares. Completely silenced.

And somebody who's still battling yells "Oh for God's sake GET A ROOM!")

105. Sometimes it makes me a little sad that marks of affection such as theirs are so out of the norm in North America. (See also: Winchesters.) I trust that most people who ship Nathan/Peter (or Sam/Dean) do it mainly because they're hot, dysfunctional, etc., and their outright behavior is congruent with a deep emotional investment. And also for the lulz. 'Cause, y'know, it's fandom, not a srs bsns social study - who cares? But I have to admit, reading things like "I don't care what people say, platonic brothers do not look at/touch each other like that" or any variation thereof that directly implies their actions are irrevocably indicative of a sexual relationship, sometimes I wonder if the authors of such statements also see them as valid in the real world, and that sort of baffles me. Tl;dr - I'm sure no one means offense to Italy or its fine citizens and descendants.

Lol I can't help but assume you're talking about PC but I suppose lots of Pokémon forums fit the bill. :( Anyway, any large forum will have a huge amount of noobs because that's just what comes up when you search for Pokémon forums. Trust me, those 14-year-old admins don't like the noobs any more than you do but it's just something they deal with. Try searching out some of the smaller forums; they tend to have much slower discussion, but at least the noob to normal ratio is a lot better with most. I don't have any specific suggestions for you though. I do suggest

pokemon (and

pkmncollectors, if you're into merchandise) if you don't mind stuff on LJ. Aside from that, good luck. :[
