N!F: WHAT ARE THOSE LITTLE BUGGERS CALLED???
I swear my friend has a bunch of them in his basement and I think they're the cutest little land shrimp ever.

Re: N!F

[identity profile] evil-laugher.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Camel crickets? It's what it immediately made me think of. Also known as cave crickets. They moved from the basement to our entire house, and like to stare at me as I use the toilet.

LOL no one's going to see this BUT

118. CHEESY STORY TIME! Okay, about a year ago I had a kidney transplant. After the surgery I was very weak and more vulnerable to germs than usual, so I spent the majority of my recovery time alone in my room, cut off from everyone. During this time I somehow happened upon some MST3K episodes on YouTube, and quickly fell in love with it. Joel/Mike and the Bots basically kept me company while I recovered from the surgery, keeping me laughing during a stressful time. A few months later when I was feeling better I had the fortune of meeting Joel and I told him all this (at least, I think I did, I WAS SO NERVOUS AND EXCITED I COULD BARELY THINK STRAIGHT). He turned to a friend of his and said, "See, this is what I'm talking about - Mystery Science Theater saves lives!" XD So anyway, yeah, I know where you're coming from. :)

133- I know what your saying, but I think "hate" was a deluded word LONG before fandom, just like "love" is.

143- I have no issues with incest what so ever and that's one that still squicks me.

177- When my school did it as a play, my theater teacher cats his "Pet" as gollum cause she wanted the part SO bad...then we found out she knw nothing at the mythology and whined at every costume design till she got them "Sexy". Watching her scenes was like watching a VERY uncomfortable peep show.

178- I know em!

111, 118, 148, 178, 182

[identity profile] velvetalchemist.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
111: Y'know, sometimes I feel that way. I think, "Man, if I had kids, I would raise them so awesome. I would encourage art and individuality and free thinking and they'd make me so proud!" But then I think, "Aw crap, I gotta get 'em past the infant/toddler stage first. DAMN." and then I just lose hope for myself. :) I wish you luck on your adventure, though.

118: Gods, I miss that show. Y'know, no matter how horrible of a day I've had, no matter how depressed I am, no matter how badly I wish I would just drop dead... THIS theme song always cheers me up. I have NO idea why. I'll listen to that, "Servo's Underwear Collection" and.. oh... crap, the end theme they do for that one Joe Don Baker movie, where they make fun of his weight... "Meatballs fried in laaaaaaaaaaaaaard! C'mon Mike, it was an easy line!" All is right with the world once more. :D
-I used to have a gumball dispenser that looked JUST LIKE SERVO. Only blue. :D I'd take the bottom cap off and manipulate the "mouth" like a puppet. My family thought I was bonkers.

148: OUCH. I'd be terrified of the impact. What if I didn't die immediately? What if I just shattered a ton of bones and had to drown? UGH. What if I was rescued? I'd have to go through a TON of hospitalization and THEN lots of psychiatric crap... Yes, I've pondered this more often than is healthy...

178: I see those books EVERYWHERE! I've never read one, though.

182: I dunno, man. Sometimes I'd catch myself looking at her boobs and think, "Man, those are rather... hefty. Yarh." and then in the second to last episode from this last season, she's running down the street, and dammit, I cannot look away from her boobs! They're bouncing all out of control... and why the hell am I staring? I have a set of my own that do that. They may not be hypnotic, but they're distracting. O_o

OH HUGH.

But it really depends on the Hugh. I liked Sean Pertwee best, I think.

BUT BUT I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS FANDOM. :D I AM SO HAPPY EVEN IF YOU'RE ANON.

Really, I think I'm Cadfael/his garden.

131: I love Pikachu's fat butt in the first part, and I want to pinch it.

153: "For Better" is ending! The author is just redoing the whole series from the beginning with new art. The Washington Post removed it now, ha ha, awww. It's not nearly as corny as "Family Circus", though. It's some steps ahead!

161: I'm not an author, but I felt like doing exactly the same with "Doctor Who", ha ha. Esp. with an extended ending where it turns out Human-Doctor is a mad player, and Rose hates him by the time of their break-up.

n!f: That photo fills me with rage. GET OUT OF MY DAMN HOUSE.

WHAT THE FUCK, JIMMY!!!! I KNOW THAT'S YOU POSTING ABOUT MISSING MCKAY! A FICTIONAL CHARCTER? YOU'RE SCARED OF GETTING WEAPPY ON THE CRIPPLE OVER A FICTIONAL CHARACTER?

Why gosh, I guess the marriage is over. Do I get alimony, or is that reserved for huge tits? Is cup size directly proportional to how much you shell out? If so, can I claim Cuddy's tits as my own for a bigger share?

also, if you need to have a 'moment' (like all pretty jewish boys), it might be possible that I'll miss Sheppard. Maybe.

103. That would certainly make for an interesting read.

135. Don't read KHR, but I did browse the main community on LJ once, out of curiosity. I got VERY, VERY confused with all those fucking numbers. "Wait, what do those numbers stand for? Huh? HOW IS THAT A PAIRING." Wouldn't it just be easier to type out the names, instead of memorizing all those numbers?

[identity profile] etherealtsuki.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 08:56 am (UTC)(link)
135. The numbers are the first two Japanese syllables changed into two numbers (only one character has 3). Like this.

The main character is Tsuna and his number is 27 (which the author herself gave him and it's ironically the hardest name to figure out for newbies). Another character is Gokudera, whose designated number is 59. If I want to refer to the Gokudera/Tsuna pairing, I can simply type out 5927. If I want to write Tsuna/Gokudera pairing, it would be 2759. Get it?

Plus we have a small guide on the site. It's quite easy to pick up.

130. I have the same reaction if anyone talks about being too personal. "Not too personal? HOW MUCH MORE PERSONAL COULD YOU GET????"

Love that movie so soooooo much. Way better than Holy Grail, imho. The inanity of sects is illustrated so perfectly in the whole gourd vs. sandal bit. BRILLIANT. XD "Cast it away!!! Cast it away!!!" And the line-up of street prophets... Gawd, I could quote it all day.

153. Both of those comics should DIAF. And not because of pathos, but because it's bloody fucking awful, I'd toss Beetle Bailey onto the flames too. Oh, and Cathy.

156. Who wouldn't? It's TLJ!

160. Same here. (And I'm torn between which Hugh de Beringar I love the most: Sean Pertwee or Eoin McCarthy. The first has a sexy voice and the second has omgtodiefor hair. Yeah, I'm shallow. :P Nah, not really. The whole Stephen/Maude loyalty struggle is great tension over the whole series.)

172. lawl - yes, THIS.

178. I've heard of them! Haven't read them tho (my mom does). Not a big mystery fan, me.

137. Oh give it up. No one's forcing you to read the 'cestfic or even speak with the shippers. Hell, you don't even have to read the fic!

Stop making excuses and just watch the show.

159. Um. You're welcome? (Kind of adored and misses GW fandom...)

Jesus slash is pretty hot though.

182. Totally. Especially when fanon slides in so close to canon that it makes your eyeballs water.

183. Statutory cyber-rape? Probably a crime. I have no clue. But yeah, it sucks when people hold your age against you.

137

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
137. I'm not into Supernatural, but I know where you're coming from. In one of my main fandoms, there's a slash pairing which is really REALLY popular and which has an extremely vocal fanbase. I actually used to enjoy watching the characters in that pairing interact with each other (in a completely non-sexual way), but that was before I got into the fandom and found that it's completely impossible to avoid the crazed shippers. Now I just dread any scene where those characters interact, because I know the shippers will loudly and obnoxiously cream themselves over it, regardless of its context.
