149. I wrote some in my youth/former days as a fic writer. It's at [livejournal.com profile] alexhuntley. Me = lame.

122. I know it's a fake secret, but sometimes I seriously do suspect that all the Joker secrets (or at least 90% of them) are made by the same person.

153. I think Family Circus is cheesy as hell but once in a while kindasorta cute. I don't really get why so many people find it worth hating with a passion.

FBofW used to be one of my favorites just because I thought it was so cool that the characters actually aged . . . and yeah, that was pretty much the only reason.

[identity profile] spacemonkeys.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
111. Meh. Maybe I'm in the minority but I never read most of those books and the ones I did, I barely remember. And I like to think I can both think and feel.

185. Word.

maybe using numbers instead of letters helps one cut down on misspellings, e.g. "insistance"?

seriously now - i myself found it a little hard to get used to, but i never thought it was stupid. in fact, i thought it was convenient and creative. and if you can find the time to look into the origins, it's pretty cool.

if you don't like it, don't use it! but i think if you stay long enough in the fandom, you're bound to get the hang of it. just try not to be so resistant, and have a little more fun.

112. When I heard Atlantis was cancelled, I asked myself "But what about Rodney?" It was heart breaking. :( I need my McKay fix.

120. Please don't try to rape your significant other? D:

130. I enjoy that movie, but I hate it when people start quoting it when they discover my name's Brian.

158. Normally, I'd say "wtf," but it's Deadpool... so... *thumbs up.*

152. YOU'RE NOT ALONE.
The descriptions felt so real I could smell the dusty books, taste the bread with honey&bees, hear the awesome concert. It pained me every time I closed the book I wasn't in the most wonderful city I could ever imagine.
I want a dream place like that for me, too. Don't be ashamed of it, it shouldn't be a secret.

181. Another Hetalia secret? Are you the same person that posted last time? Where I can read that, it looks so fantabulous. The characters are so CUTE, I loved the art.

178.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_nanimo/ 2008-09-03 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I read a bunch of those in middle school. :)

[identity profile] elfinpiper.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
133. I agree. I think it’s difficult for fans to accept that not liking a character isn’t grounds for claiming that character is nonessential. Characters make up the story. Without different types, there would be no conflict. And that would be dull.

Besides, in general I find there’s something likable about most every character, if you knew where to look for it.

153. Lol! Unfortunately for you, For Better or For Worse is starting over from the very beginning! They aren’t recycling the series, but instead the writer is adding new bits and scenes, starting from when the kids were just tykes. It’ll probably hang in for a while now – unless it majorly flops.

161. Ha. It’s an affliction, yes.

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
128. Just when I think fandom can't sink any lower...

182. YOU CANNOT DENY THE TRUTH OF THE HYPNOBOOBIES. And of course Sam isn't related to Rose. He's the Master.

that looks exactly like the bus i waited thirty minutes to ride this morning at 8am. now i wonder who you might imagine me as if you see me on that bus one day...

105: Ahaha, nothing will ever convince me that the way in which Milo and Adrian act towards each other in Heroes is 'brotherly'. I'm sorry. If that's pathetic or unrealistic to you, then fine, but I have never seen two brothers look at each other like that and doubt I ever will. And really, do Italian people stare at their brothers or sisters lips? Cause that? Doesn't seem quite normal to me.

108: LMAO. This is one of the few things I don't wish I could unsee. XD (I've never been a big fan of Papa John's but suddenly I have a whole new appreciation for them.)

112. Oh GOD, I feel you. (Not about my real friends, but the rest of it, yea.) I wish I didn't, but Rodney is my homeboy and imagining my Friday's without him is painful in ways it shouldn't be. I love and can relate to his character in so many ways, and man, have I grown attached to him. He's become my favorite fictional character too. I feel like I know him personally. Maybe it's silly, but I feel like it's going to be impossible to get over him. And now you've got me crying again. Thanks. XD

128: ... I have a hard time believing this is real. I HOPE it isn't. However if it is, my perversions have nothing on yours.

137: So you couldn't, just, you know, ignore the fandom or even the PARTS of fandom that squick you? Your loss.

151: Wow, The Joker actually looks pretty damn fine in this picture. Still wouldn't screw him though. (And yay for believing in Harvey Dent! Or wanting Harvey Dent to be in you. Both, I guess.)

182: XD Aww, I wish Sam and Peter were buddies. (Where they could go on and on about their epic love for their brothers.) I definitly have my moments too where I'll forget if something happened in canon or if I just read it in fanfic. Also FTW about Donna's breasts.

*shakes fist at weather for making my internet it's bitch* I can only see half the secrets. D: *sighs and reloads*

They've been my fave pizza place since I was a little kid... and I just recently got into SPN and I adore Papa >D So you can imagine the giggle-squees when I first made the connection in my brainballs. I just burst into random giggles for the rest of the night. My family thought I'd just gone insane >D

To a much dorkier extent I also burst into gigglies and "Deans" brand milk and "Sam's choice" Oh lord... Look what SPN has DONE to me? XD In one fatal swoop it's turned me into the creepy woman in Wal-mart laughing to herself at random moments =.='

111. RAWK. (But you forgot Dr. Dolittle and the Oz series! Fundamental in raising young bleeding-heart animal-loving communists such as myself!)

118. Yay! I'm glad it helped you, and I totally agree about its healing properties. I can't think of a single other show that so consistently makes me feel better just by thinking about it.

125. Of course it was real! Sure, it was the instant-passion, love-at-first-sight kind of teenage love that makes you act really silly, but it was deep enough for both of them to go against what their families had been drilling into them their entire lives.

I think there's a pretty clear contrast made between Romeo's more superficial love for Rosaline and his love for Juliet, plus there's the fact that his love for her extends to her entire family. I mean, teenage guy walking down the street, having grown up in a world where just seeing a Capulet's face is a causa belli, and here comes a guy who's going out of his way to look for a fight, and there's no way he's gonna back down-- and Romeo just spreads his arms and goes, "I love you, man!" He basically shifted his entire world view in days because of her.

So, essentially, yeah, it was real love. Unfortunately, it was the kind of love that makes you act really dumb, and that added to the situation between their families, plus the conventional Tragic Misunderstanding, made it impossible for it to cool off and become a more mature love.

God, that was long. Sorry, reflex from AP English.

143. HOKUTOOOOO <3<3<3 ...Ahem. Yeah, I generally don't do incest, period, but, like. They have such a wonderful, powerful relationship. I don't really see it in a sexual or romantic way, so maybe it's not even shipping, but I just enjoy it in a way I don't usually enjoy even my favorite family interactions. I guess this is platonic shipping? In conclusion: CLAMP >:|

169. As someone who doesn't request because I can't write, yeah, the thing is that it seems to be overwhelmingly the requests involving the characters from TDK that get filled-- which is understandable because they're popular right now, the creative juices are flowing due to the movie, etc. But compared with the Phoenix Wright kink meme, it seems a little less inviting to fans of more minor pairings.

174. Lazaer? The hell? I thought they already did Wolverine's backstory. "It took twenty years, but we did it. It's done." "Yes, but now we have to retcon it from a different angle! Again and again and again."

175

[identity profile] shishiomaru.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
You lost me at, "I'm not a homophobe, but..." Whenever the "but" gets added, I automatically assume it will be followed by something homophobic, or racist/sexist, ect. as the secret dictates.

That being said, ARE there a lot of gay men in Tori Amos fandom? I always assumed it was lesbians and straight girls who grew out of Evanessence.

162. imo Simon/Nia is like the sweetheart of F!S. Not a bad thing, definitely.

181. fandom request. boy in medieval-ish clothing intrigues me.

re: 181

(Anonymous) 2008-09-03 09:29 am (UTC)(link)
Fandom is Hetalia. It's a Japanese webcomic turned Japanese published manga, and soon to be animated series. All in a very short time. Kind of impressive.

The boy is England (...yes, as in the country. The cast is made up of the anthropomorphic representations of countries. The plot is basically "what it would be like if entire historic events were to take place between 3-4 people"). He's usually not wearing clothing like that. But he's cute as button.

If that sounds interesting to you the webcomic is hosted here (http://www.geocities.jp/himaruya/hetaria/). It's all in Japanese, though.

If you DON'T speak Japanese, however, the lj community ([livejournal.com profile] hetalia) has translated/scanlated some of it, and will be your best bet for more information. They're be good for information even if you do speak Japanese, actually.

[identity profile] crystal-lemons.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 04:29 am (UTC)(link)
137. Coming from the angle of someone who actually started watching the show just because of the incest I feel the need to comment. Supernatural is cute at times and intense and no it’s not completely necessary that the bros be “hitting it” as it were. But I really do think that because of the unique set up of the show and of their relationship that at times it could certainly be plausible that they are all each other have. Again >.>‘ no that doesn’t mean they necessarily need be humping like rabbits… but it certainly makes a damn good backdrop for the fandom to think so XD. Either way you shouldn’t let that stop you from watching. It’s a damn good show and they pull off the brother relationship so amazingly well you forget they’re actors O_O it’s crazy awesome. ^^; *steps off soap box*

116

[identity profile] cnyll.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, I have the same syndrome. XD;; My dad started me on watching Bones because he thought I'd relate. I agree with someone else who commented; maybe you should hang out and try having her watch a few episodes, and you could just kind of mention it in passing, so she can brush it off if she doesn't get it, but she can take it as a compliment no matter what. :)

[identity profile] cnyll.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
OH HI PAGE TWELVE. :D

Amen!

I wish I could discuss Pokemon (the show especially, erm) on a serious level, or at least know actual fans my age. (Why do I have to be 24 already!?)

[identity profile] plainjanejones0.livejournal.com 2008-09-03 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you seem rather juvenille to me, thinking that your lack of understanding of hyperbole somehow makes you more mature.

I already decided on Brigadier-Alistair-Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart for my first-born though, so you'll have to wait a bit...
