I can’t get my code to fail but I don’t feel it’s ready to submit for whatever reason. It’s eating at me. Paranoia or prescience, where do you draw the line when it comes to your gut?

I made a pavlova with lemon curd and blueberries! I think it turned out exactly like it should! It has a great texture. Like crispy outside and marshmallow middle.

I read a fanfic that involved an old guy and his grandkids. My grandma passed away recently and it reminded me a lot of her and I want to mention that. Is that too personal to share?

Why do emotions have to be so complicated? So, my grandmother is dying. She has Alzheimer's, and they've given her only a couple weeks to live. And the thing is, I don't know how I feel. I mean, I feel sad for my dad, who is mourning. But I'm not sure I'm mourning. I've never known how I feel about her, if I'm honest. She's the typical southern racist who says blatantly racist comments at every conceivable opportunity. She knows what I do and purposefully refuses to talk about it and makes anti-immigrant comments to me. So I mostly don't talk to her. She's my grandmother, and she's never done anything personal to hurt me. But I find her worldview offensive, and we've never really gotten along. And it is making it difficult to get a grasp on what I'm feeling.

Hello, fellow gardeners!

Not too long ago, someone asked for recs on seed companies, and MIgardener was mentioned by one anon.

I put in a small order because the seeds were super cheap - .99 a packet! One review on one variety suggested that maybe the website seed count did not match actual seed count, which concerned me but I wanted to test it out. My order arrived today and I thought I'd report back my findings.

The number listed initially is the seed count as reported by the MIgardener website. "Unknown" is when they don't list a number. The number in parenthese is the seed count actually written on the package. I haven't opened up packages to count all the seeds myself and in some cases that's really not practical.

Chives - 250 (250)
Catnip - 350 (350)
Borage - 60 (60)
Slow Bolt Arugula - unknown (400)
Basil, Italian Large Leaf - unknown (500)
Basil, Genovese - unknown (500)
Basil, Siam Queen - unknown (200)
Marigold, Crackerjack - 150 (100)
Butterfly Milkweed - 500 (50)
Wild Bergamot “Bee Balm” Flower - 100 (100)

So for the most part, seed counts on the website (when known) vs. seed counts on the package are consistent. Only the marigold and the butterfly milkweed was off, but the butterfly milkweed was waaaaaaaay off by an order of magnitude. I'm not upset, but I'll probably e-mail them a heads up about correcting their listings.

Otherwise, packaging is fine and they shipped it in a reasonable amount of time. S/H costs are quite reasonable too, IIRC.

That's just a fact of life. It does bother me to be lonely, to be alone, it bothers me that I have some really deeply entrenched idea that I'm unbearable and unlikable, but the idea that you're not everyone's cup of tea is just reality.

The person I want doesn't even actually exist. He's a fictional character, who in his universe died like 200 years ago, so that bothers me on some level but it's not like even if he would have existed he would have been interested in me.

And people aren't something you can "have" anyway.

I honestly can't imagine a single person who'd actual expect to get anyone/thing they'd ever/possibly want...
