Sometimes I feel the same way about family. Like my childhood wasn't bad, but I always come across characters with bad childhoods being portrayed respectively, and never seem to grasp with part of it is that bad. For me I'm always thinking, it could be worse, and if it's only a couple times it's (not fine, but) not that bad. (wow this comment is a mess, sorry bout that)

It's good you know what makes a healthy relationship now, and know that you deserve one!

Well, yeah. If I want gen, I can get that from the canon itself. I read fanfic for the stuff we don't get from canon, which is usually porn.

I'm a Loki fan, and while I don't seek out the haters to "reprimand" them or whatever (because I literally feel too old for that shit) I feel this comment because I. Am. Tired. Yes, I know he's often not a pleasant character...thanks for insulting my intelligence. I just want to enjoy things? I don't even like MCU Tony Stark much but I feel some sort of solidarity with his hardcore stans because of this.

I'm also not here for Loki fans who hate on other characters, especially Thor, so I'm sick of being lumped in with that shite as well.

True. I think Brandon Urie and Harry Styles have both gotten away with ambiguous sexuality in both lyrics and interviews. Urie came out. Styles is still being ambiguous about the issue (understandably given how he's the focus of some of the worst tin-hatting of the last decade). In both cases there were plenty of stans arguing they should come out (if at all) on their own time.

I loved this era of the fandom and will never apologise for it! It could be done so badly but some people did it so well that it made up for the OOC stuff.

Tried to get my recovering-from-surgery hen to eat something, but so far she’s only eaten some yogurt mixed with egg yolk, and not much of that. She also hasn’t pooped much, and I think her crop may still have food in it from before the surgery yesterday.

I hope it’s just because she had some of her intestines outside her abdominal/whatever those muscles are in chickens wall and just got them shoved back in and sewn up, and her digestion will start working again as she heals.

Also went on a short hike and now have a headache. I need to do laundry at some point, but I really don’t want to move from my spot on the couch.

I agree completely with your take on Tony. I wonder if that humanity is part of the reason he gets so much hate. Like... we see his cracks and flaws and it reminds us of our own, which can be uncomfortable.

I disagree with the idea that there is any one set of characteristics that are "fundamentally human." We're all different. And I'd argue that's a pretty Western way of looking at it too. So many cultures and personalities in our world.

I think all the characters in the MCU are very human in their own way. I relate very much to Natasha's need to make up for her past. I also relate to Steve's way of dealing with his PTSD (or not dealing rather) much more than I relate to Tony's way. And I relate to Thor's emotions.

I get that the main het ship in my fandom just had a big heyday, but it's a really, really bad look for people to crow about how Good and Correct and Obvious a heterosexual marriage is and how much they're "drinking the tears" of all those stupid slash fans. It's gross and alienating and I'm blocking people left and right, but the hurt is still there. I'm a gay woman living in a place that isn't exactly the most lgbt-friendly. I deal with this shit in real life. So many of us do. Why are we not allowed to escape it even in a space that has historically been queer-friendly and a place to explore queer themes and queer love?

Or more plausibly, Hux arranges for Kylo to conveniently be the handwavium chamber of the unobtanium device just as he orders the destruction of a planet, and Kylo uses his force powers to save everyone at the cost of his own life.

Sitting in a cafe my wife works in while I write fanfic. It's a slow day, too, so she's able to come over and hang out for a couple of minutes here or there. It's great.
