Currently have a migraine which has ruined my weekend plans. So I'm reading lists on Listverse, my favorite top ten list site.

Pinterest and Wikipedia. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I can spend a full hour on pinterest. Wikipedia I find easy to fall down the rabbit hole.

Reddit. I know people get all up in arms about how toxic it is, but like someone else said on the GC the other day, it's like the internet. It depends on where you hang out. I like looking at pics of peoples' lovely gardens and vegetables on r/gardening, cool finds on r/thriftstorehauls and the r/crossstitch and r/embroidery has cool photos of peoples' projects.

I have a situation at the moment I honestly don't know what to do about.

The background is that I've been sick for a few years and have 'lost my looks' as it were. I'm married and very self-conscious about how my husband must feel about how crap I now look.

This sort of came up in conversation the other day and my husband told me that:

-he knows i'll get uglier as I get older but he loves me anyway
- that there's a woman at work he thinks is much more attractive than me but it's still me he loves


The colleague in question is a friend of his who is also married. They have lunch together once a week. Whereas he and I have never once been on a date in ten years.

I... am stumped as to what to do with this information. I don’t want to be the kind of partner who forbids my spouse from seeing a friend socially but i'm hurt and not at all comfortable with it either.

I've tried to tell him how I feel but he tells me i'm imagining things and being stupid.

What do I do??? I have no idea how to handle any of this.

No specifics in case she reads this, but I have a friend with absolutely no life that doesn't involve her husband or her kids. She constantly signs up for new things, then she says she's stressed and wish she had more free time. She'll sometimes say she wants to see her other friends more, but her kids. (Who are all more than old enough to do things on their own.)

I've hinted a few times that she can just not do everything, or take time for herself, with no response. The last time she lamented that she couldn't see a friend, I asked why her husband couldn't stay home with them. Nothing. Should I shut up about it? On one hand, I worry that she's forgetting she's allowed to have her own life that has nothing to do with her kids or, for that matter, her husband. On the other hand, maybe it's unfair for me to project my single, childfree existence onto her. Especially when even my own family was never like that - we were always very close, but everyone did their own thing some of the time, as opposed to every activity being a package deal.
