105: I don't watch dubs, since we generally don't dub for age groups older than the 8-10 age group here. I have heard a bit of the American dub, and yes, the original voices are in a whole different league (I speak both English and Japanese aside from my mother tongue).

105. I really like the Miyazaki dubs, too. I still haven't watched Spirited Away in Japanese yet because I like the dub so much. I think Disney really did a good job with them. I agree, though, that some series dubbing sounds artificial, but not all of it does. .hack//SIGN, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Cowboy Bebop were quite well done, in my opinion. It's not necessarily the acting, either - there are some great voice actors who are subjected to bad direction, which results in bad dubs.

132. I agree with you on the first part so hard. I don't like the Charles/Pickles pairing either but that's more because I can't wrap my mind around Charles being paired with any of the boys. Not only because he comes off so asexual, not only because I don't believe he would cross that boundary no matter how he felt, but because he refers to them as "the boys" like they were his children, and that freaks me out.

Honestly? Bosie is one of the people I dislike the most from Oscar Wilde's life. I loved Robbie, however, but Bosie was just a spoiled child and I feel bad because of how his father treated him and his family, but the point remains that he was a brat. (He probably wouldn't have been so bad if he had had a better father. He was atrocious.)

127: I don't think the issue is that they're both guys, it's that they're both STRAIGHT guys. This is why they haven't hooked up. There are gay couples on prime time tv. Networks are no longer 'scared' to go there these days. Why can't people just be happy with the fact that House and Wilson are straight males with a very strong friendship? As far as I'm concerned, this has also been treated by the writers as the integral relationship to the show and specifically to House's life. Its importance is never underplayed. Just because they're not together romantically/sexually, the significance of their relationship is not diminished.

Now, I'm not against slash by any means, but within the realms of canon, you know? A strong friendship is just as good as a romantic relationship, you know.
