When Anne of Green Gables (1985) aired in the US, I had such a crush on that Gilbert Blythe (Jonathan Crombie). I think it was 1986, so I was around 11 and the actor was 19. I just thought he was so pretty and engaging, I guess. And I thought he and Anne fit.

I was really sad when he passed away in 2015.

I HATE the trope of a couple breaking up because one party doesn't want kids. But I guess I get it at Alex's age. At Will's age, it just seems dumb. He's throwing away part of what he wants to gamble on all of it. And he could have adopted alone a long time ago.
