112. Bwhahaha, that'd be hilarious. I understand what you mean. Though I do ship them romantically, I don't see it like "They have the hots for each other that way and should come to terms with it" so much as, their relationship is so intricate and close, it wouldn't really make too much of a difference between them to cross that line. I don't see it as "ruining the friendship," and I don't see it as "coming out." They love each other and need each other, and either man would sacrifice himself to make the other happy, that much is canon. I simply feel that - considering House's hinted nonchalance about sexuality and Wilson's agreement that Amber was House in a skirt - evolving what they have into a sexual relationship wouldn't be all that unrealistic.

101. I started out watching Doctor Who on a local PBS channel. My first Doctor (and still tied for my favorite) was Colin Baker. I knew all about regeneration; I knew it was coming. But when I turned on the TV one Saturday to watch Paradise Towers*... well, it's a good thing I had a habit of recording the show, because I was crying too much to follow the plot the first time I saw it. Watching it again, I realized that the Doctor is still the same character, just different, and it was all gonna be okay... Yet despite my rationality, McCoy's still one of my less favorite Doctors.

Sorry, Seven! I still love you... kind of. Uh, more than Nine? :D

103: Oh, Sakuno is so cute! And I always felt so sorry for her to have a crush on a boy so completely uninterested as Ryoma. She's a bit spineless, though. Hopefully she'll grow up to realise that she deserves better (and I say that as a Ryoma-fan; I just think he needs someone who can take his attitude, and shut him up every once in a while).

128: For me, fandom is absolutely about having fun. Different people enjoy fandom in different ways, though.

135: Yes, I agree. In theory, I don't really care about who tops and who bottoms (or, if it's anime, who's seme and who's uke), but because how people write them depending which position they take, certain characters are completely unreadable in certain positions (I can't read H/D where Harry tops any more; he's pretty much always completely OOC).

150: My most favourite couple ever is Darcy/Elizabeth (i.e. het), and I only read slash/yaoi (and sometimes gen) in fandom. The problem is that het in published fic is often sloppily done - the writer trusts the audience to already be of the mindset that of course the main female character will fall in love with the main male character and they'll become a couple! We're fostered by almost every single piece of mainstream media to think that way, so when we've realised that there are a lot of possibilities when it comes to sexuality, we see the shoddy work in mainstream het romance.

Not to say that there isn't any god het, but it's rare.

135 here. I find that the problem with a lot of fic, especially in the HP-verse, is that people pick the way a character is represented in a certain book-- Harry from OotP, for example-- and stick with that, even when we get character development that brings them very, very far away from that. Snape pre-DH, Ginny pre-OotP, Draco pre-HBP-- all those characters had huge changes (or revelations, because some characters were always that way and we just didn't know), but a lot of fandom ignores that.

That said-- I have only found ONE D/H fic that was anything close to IC. I've mostly stopped reading slash fic about Harry anymore, simply because there are so few authors out there that write him IC when there is buttsexin' involved.

All the ones I have found have been switch, or Harry topping.
