135. I know how you feel, I actually got really seriously annoyed at my friend after I introduced her to a fandom and she said one of the guys is a top when CLEARLY (in my opinion) the other is. I can't read fic that doesn't do it the way I want. It may not bother me so much if it wasn't like, for example, in one of my bandoms, almost EVERY TIME one of the guys bottoms he's a girly whiny bitch and he hardly EVER tops. It upsets me. But it really, really shouldn't as much as it does.

ive no idea who she is or what the books are, but she seems pritty, and she isnt in a wheel chair due to exece weight, so i dont see what the issue is. infact, from what i can tell, shes a fairy desent weight, not ove weight, got a nice figer, nothing to be ashamed off. i would, on the basis of looks, witch, tbf, isnt say much, but there you go. i dont see the drama

I'm pretty sure she means Batman/Wonder Woman. But either way, both are really only popular with the JLU fic, not so much the actual comics (from what I've seen, anyways).


Seriously though, the world needs more Batman/Wally West. So if I'm wrong in assuming that it's mostly JLU fic I'D LOVE TO BE PROVEN WRONG :D

105. I am so with you on that secret. I told my husband and my best friend about my interest in slash early on, and they both thought it was weird and stupid. And then they outed me to other people. It's made me really closeted about much of my fannish activities, which I hate, because fandom in general and slash in specific is such a big part of my life.

Which was not intended as discouragement. I hope you do tell your friends someday, and I hope they're totally fine with it. :o)

2. That was a really crappy thing for them to have done. But it's also why I'm now very quiet about my online activities. I wasn't at first and people thought I was nuts. One person even stopped returning my calls; to be honest, that might not have anything to do with fandom but they stopped talking to me right after I told them about my involvement fandom. And the stuff I'm into is really tame.

eureka seven for the win.

for the record, i agree that the holland/talho relationship is a heck of a lot more realistic than the renton/eureka one, but i think what the latter ship has got over the former is that it gets the magic of falling, hard, for someone for the very first time.

i love both ships desperately.

SEE THIS.

I see people dissing E/R all the time, saying it's unrealistic or too fluffy or whatever, but every couple in the series balances each other out in different ways... and like you said, they're totally recklessly and unashamedly in love for the first time, and I think this series handles that euphoric-fluffy feeling in a more palpable way than a lot of series/movies/manga/whatever try to do.
