Don't be ashamed OP! I still think back on Kim/Tommy with fondness. I still love them and I'm 21. I will always be sad when I think of their breakup. I stopped watching after they split. And I was a little kid like you so it wasn't like I knew what shipping was either! I just understood that I didn't like what was happening and that those two were meant to be. :D

I honestly don't think you should worry about such a thing. The only thing you should worry about is how your costume will turn out haha As long as your costume is well done and suits your body type, not specifically your skin colour, then you should be perfectly fine.
One of my favourite cosplayers is HoneyBunny, check out her stuff on her site (http://honeybunny.50megs.com/aboutme/) and cosplay.com (http://www.cosplay.com/member/4089/) profile. Her stuff is amazing, maybe it'll give you confidence/motivation idk.

117- Ugh, I finished the book on the freaking airplane with my parents sound asleep on either side of me. I was choking back sobs and sniffling loudly trying not to wake them up. It was awful DX

Host is ten times better than Twilight. Don't think it should be classified as an adult book but still....The main character is much less of a Mary-Sue and the action scenes were actually suspenseful.

That's quite sad, anon, because fandom actually made me like GS4-era Phoenix.

And Lawyer!Nick is probably the most I'll ever like a fictional character. I mean, really, how can anyone with a heart dislike a character who runs across a burning bridge to save his friend? But Hobo!Nick did make me go all D: initially...

101. Go for it anyway! One reason I like cosplay is it opens up new interpretations of the character. I really dislike when people try to call cosplayers out for not being carbon copies of the characters. What if the cosplayer has dimples? And the character they're cosplaying doesn't have dimples? I think that's perfect. It gives a cool new spin on the character. So I see skin color as just another extension of that. Maybe characters would look even better if you cosplay them! :)

107. Nami was actually one of the reasons I stopped reading One Piece; I just couldn't find her bitchiness endearing... (Though bitches do get shit done, and she probably got cooler after I stopped reading. Ah well.)

Well, considering how most of the characters are meant to be Asians (despite the pink/green/purple/blue hair), it shouldn't matter. Sure, you might not be able to get the 'best impersonation' or whatever awards they have for cosplay these days, but then who really cosplays for winning (except for the...very few, I guess)? Plus, cosplay is also about the wig, the needlework, and the crafting. Most of the fun is in that instead of really looking like that character, in my opinion. ;)

You should just GO FOR IT. take a page from a fat cosplayer's handbook and not care if you look similar to the character or not.

124. Since that's Loveless on the screen, and Loveless is yaoi (albeit of the twisted sort)... Um. That's sort of like saying that you hate it when a romance caters to romance fans. WTF? I have no idea what you think yaoi is, but I'm pretty sure you've got it wrong.

Repeat after me. Genre. Gen-re. Come on, you can say it.

If what you're talking about is poorly-done, over-loaded subtext in an otherwise gen or het series, I can sort of understand, but at the same time I challenge you to find me a plethora of yaoi shows compared to the het-with-subtext that litters the streets (which sometimes feels like it's only het or gen because they didn't dare add in a gay couple). We take what we can get when the pickings are slim.

I subscribe totally to the Simon Amstall love. Partial BECAUSE he's so blunt and doesn't care to tread gently when it comes to celebrities. We live in such a cotton wool society, one that worships the ground most celebrities walk on too, so it's nice to see someone who will step out of the mould, treat celebrities like normal human beings and make me laugh like a loon whilst doing so.

101 - Don't let anyone (even yourself) tell you, you can't cosplay a character cause of skin color. The best Aang I've ever seen was black. Cosplay is for fun! I'm not the correct weight/sex for most of my cosplays but I still have a great time in character.

I disagree utterly and entirely. To me, Emil/Marta is bland, overdone and stereotypical to the point where it makes me nauseous. It's so sweet it gives you cavities, but god damn those cavities hurt like hell!

Plz to be handing me a bucket, emo couple. GOD. Marta hasn't even known Emil for longer than five seconds and already she's blushing. That's just sick.

Oh, but this is all my opinion, of course. If you find that pairing tasteful, be my guest and ship it. But people who don't agree with you shouldn't feel like horrible people for "splitting them up".
