Those are the "Mr. Men," a series of kid's books and TV shows. There was Little Ms. Chatterbox, Mr. Uppity, Mr. Bounce, among others. I think there were like fifty of them, each with their own picture book and episode.

Quite honestly,
This kind of stuff makes me hate fandom.

Also I don't get why everyone is spazzing over David Tennant and being so negative about a new Doctor...or even care so much who gets cast. Its a TV SHOW, people. Its like when Kirsten Stewart and RPattz got cast and everyone raised a shitstorm--get over it.

I mean, if you don't live in the U.S., I sort of understand (I do have to respect that not all of fandom is in the U.S. after all), but honestly? If you are in the U.S....you do know how important this election was right? How historical it was? How much difference it could make?

124. Don't be! I cannot agree with you more! I am a pretty big yaoi fangirl, but I just cannot ever seem to enjoy series that blatantly provide us that 'yaoi fangirl fix'. It just seems so... tacky and blatantly manufactured and watered down. I don't like Loveless (actually, this is pretty much the -only- series I can say that I might just... hate.), I don't like Junjou Romantica, I don't like Gravitation all that much. There's lots of series out there that are purely for yaoi fangirls that just are not my cup of tea. I think the only exceptions I can make are Antique Bakery (which, in my opinion, doesn't really blatantly appeal to the yaoi fangirl audience. It's just kind of an added bonus in my eyes.), Genshiken (Ogiue's little trip to slash land. I adore that part of the series way too much), and a few titles from June. Other than that, please stop trying to give me this tripe. I always feel like they're trying way too hard. :|

I know how you feel. I made a character design for Sougyo no Kotowari ages ago, and I love it so much that I don't WANT to see the canon one... since it will make my version 'wrong'.

It's shitty and truthfully there's no way completely around it beyond "cosplay a dark skinned character," but for what it's worth I think you should just go as whoever you damn well please (and take a big sign with you inviting those who have a problem with it to go fuck themselves).

Responding to the secrets is often just as cathartic as writing them, so you can expect fiery responses that people have just been dying to get out.

125. Avatar is Aang and Zuko's story. Technically, Zuko is kind of the main protagonist. That's why the big showdowns in the finale are his and Aang's. I also can't help but assume that the batshit Aang fangirls are being reactionary to the batshit Zuko fangirls, who popped onto the scene first and started denigrating Aang for being a wuss, a little kid, and, um, bald. There's tension between Aang and Zuko fans as much as there is tension between Kataang and Zutara fans.

Of course, it's the Zuko fangirls fault. You know, it is possible for Aang fans to be batshit all on their own. Just like it's possible for canon shippers to be batshit all on their own. They don't have to be reacting to anything.

My experience in other fandoms has played this out well. Batshit is batshit, you don't need to make excuses for them or Kataang anytime some one mentions them.

I'd go for it. I mean, if the criteria is having to look just like the person you're cosplaying...no one would do it. I'm a female and planning on cosplaying a couple of male characters, which worries me a bit, but I'm still gonna go for it.

As for having cosplaying friends...depending on the fandom, maybe you can find an lj comm for cosplayers? Probably worth a try if you really want to have someone to share it with.
