It was more Marta's story than Fran's so I get it from that perspective. But I got the impression Fran was trusted to the same degree as Marta so there was the opportunity to really double down on the family's arsehole hypocrisy when they show their true colours toward the help. Also I do think it would've been nice to see Fran and Marta interacting a bit more.
