How is everyone?

I had a big argument with my family and had just come back after walking around for 5 hours to get away - while also rediscovering my love for Linkin Park music along the way.

i was up all night in pain w some mystery stomach bug sobs. been nauseated all day but i finally tried to eat something a bit ago. it was just some cucumber and and peach slices but even that was hard to get through. it hurts to move ahaha.

Ah, Linkin Park. I still love them, but I haven't listened to some of their songs since Chester's passing.

I'm doing good. I did a mountain of laundry, organized my room, did all my work, and decided to treat myself to Panera. I'm just waiting for my order to get here.

I still love Linkin Park. I remember how their angsty lyrics fitted perfectly our harry potter headcanon lol. I recently discovered "Place to start" by Mike Shinoda and I really like it.

I think I filed for unemployment wrong. So now I have to try and contact someone at the Oklahoma unemployment agency. Considering I never got a call back from trying to contact them over a month ago...I am not hopeful.

Okay. Watched a couple Castle episodes, had a nice nap this afternoon. Right now I'm listening to some music and deciding what gets put on my ipod, what gets kept, and what gets deleted (I have a lot of stuff and only so many portable harddrives and space on my computer, so I'm not going to keep something I don't like).

Not bad. I made Bailey's French toast and sausage for breakfast, took a long shower and washed my hair. It's 91° here today and only getting hotter this week, ugh. I think I'll make some sun tea.

I'm doing good! My strawberry patch is being a good strawberry patch. It's making enough for me AND the birds! Though the birds have been leaving it alone lately, so I wonder if they got upset tummies from being greedy little bastards.

I'm on my ninth week of covid symptoms. So far i've thought I was going to die three times and thought I was better twice. I have no idea what this fecking virus is doing to my body.

Okay. I've only been awake a couple hours (have been staying up all night and sleeping during the day lately).

I'm debating whether to go grocery shopping in the morning or not. That was the plan, but I'm thinking it might be busier because of the holiday so I might just wait until Tuesday.

I'm OK. Feeling better now than I did a week ago. Everything felt so bleak last week. This week I was more productive, and I got to see my parents and siblings for the first time in months. Couldn't give my mom a hug like I wanted, but this social distance has made me appreciate my mom a lot more.
I also began writing fanfics this week. Started a few new ones, and reopened old ones. I don't intend to post these anywhere, but I think it's important for me to write so I don't feel bad that I'm not being productive.

Not great.
So my uncle and aunt invited me to come visit them along with my parents several times during the last years and I never wanted to go. This weekend, my parents were going to visit them and I said okay, I feel bad about always declining to come so maybe I'll come along this time".
So now my mother called my aunt to ask if it was okay if I came along and she did say it was. Only thing is: My cousin and her fiancé are also visiting.

Now I've been out of work for a while and don't really want to talk about it with people and I'm super anxious that I'll get asked what I do for a living. This, together with the fact that I'm on my period and both in massive pain and in a depressed mood and having pulled my shoulder this morning which means more pain, made me have a breakdown. I also feel stupid for basically inviting myself when their house is already full and I don't think it's a great idea to have that many people in one place during this time.
I really, really don't want to go but there's no way for me to get out of it now because my aunt already said it's okay and she's happy I'm coming and saying I'm not would make them think I have something against my cousin or something. But I really don't want to go. A lot of my anxiety and panic about this is due to my PMS but I'm in pain and depressed and miserable and just want to disappear.

FIC WRITERS - QUESTIONS

Genuine questions -
1) Why do people post WIP? I don't understand why people post something that isn't finsihed? I can get why you might post a completed fic at weekly intervals, but not why you would post something and say you don't know where it is going to go?

2) Why post stories when you think they suck? Other than the obs attention seeking for "no they're br1ll!!!" comments? I get the "I'm a little uncertain how this worked?" feedback requests, but that's all.

1) Sometimes people just want to get what they've got out there and see what happens. Maybe people will be interested, and positive feedback is encouraging for many writers. Or maybe they think that they will eventually figure out where something is going.

2) A lot of people have low self esteem and feel more comfortable with self-deprecation than being confident. And yeah, sometimes people are fishing for praise and affirmation.

No one thinks their fic sucks?

1) ok, honestly, at this point I'm surprised and astonished if a fic gets completed. So rare. And I'm ok with that.

As a writer I don't post WIPs because a. I'll get either discouraged or pressured and b. I don't enjoy answering to comments, kudos is where it is for me. I posted a WIP once and it got popular and I was, like, I didn't even like it that much, it's gonna stay WIP, buy.

I have a tattoo myself, but I could never get other forms of body modifications (including simple ear piercings). It's just a squick factor to me. When I see other people with those sorts of body modifications, I'm making the D: face internally. Not because they don't look good or whatever, but just the thought of going through that makes me go D:.

That being said, hers actually don't look bad at all, especially with how she's done her hair and makeup. She doesn't come anywhere near my Shitty Elf/Dog/Vulcan Ears list.
