Dear 150,

Don't take this the wrong way, but when I read your secret the first words out of my mouth were "Wow - how racist are you?". The second thought I had was "You can't say that the Doctor is quintessentially British! He's quintessentially an alien!". The Doctor changes with each regeneration and becomes something completely new, each regeneration showing a new facet of human nature. The Peter Davidson Doctor was preppy and cricket loving, whereas the Sylvester McCoy Doctor drank tea and played with people and time like pieces on a chess board. The David Tennant Doctor was ADD and flamboyant, whereas the Tom Baker Doctor was dark and somewhat disturbing at times. You can't say what the Doctor is, because each Doctor is so different from any of the other Doctors before him. Frankly, I think it would be bloody awesome to have a black Doctor. Hell, I think it would be even more awesome to have an Indian or even a Middle Eastern Doctor.

Also, Joseph Paterson is not only rumored (yeah, just a rumour for right now, so everyone calm down!) to be the next Doctor Who because he's black but because he is essentially a great actor and that's all that should matter.

I agree that the job should go to an actor who can do the role justice, and hopefully is a fan of the show. I saw an interview with Catherine Tate on The Gram Norton show, and she confessed that she never watched the old series, so she missed out on a lot of the excitement of the cast and crew when characters like the Cybermen or the Daleks would appear. It instantly made me dislike Donna Nobel, which isn't fair, since she's otherwise an amazing companion.
