Every single Twilight and "lose respect" secret makes me want to stab something.

110. And the (presumably non-caveman) non-single men you know were single at one point. Questions of true love aside, there are wonderful people out there.
118. Heh. Yay theater people!
120. Oh god, have I just found another addicting flash game?
121. I love that movie (especially the Narrator)!
134. WHY IS DR. MANHATTAN MODELING FOR BADLY-MADE GAY ROMANCE NOVEL COVERS
145. Awwwwwww.
150. I don't know anything about him--is he not British?
154. Atticus Finch is love. And good luck!
155. Who doesn't?
159. "Sickening"? Really? And no, many people don't watch the show for the "medical genius" because a) the actual medicine is inaccurate, and b) the show's formula would be boring as hell without House's personal life and relationships (platonic or not) supporting it.

That said, House and Cox desperately need to meet and bitch at each other.

101. Oh wow. Elitist much?

139. That'd be the right mindset if Hetalia were only mindless fanservice, but it's not 8D IMO, it's very interesting to see how the author manages to take the usually depressing topic of war and politics and weave it into something both enjoyable and easy to understand.

149. Greil (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/fireemblem/images/b/b7/Fepr-greil.jpg) shows up in Kuroshitsuji?

WW2 was a tragedy, yes. However, I see NOTHING wrong with poking fun at international stereotypes. I fail to see how the main comic has poked fun at WW2 at all.

And anon, people have been slashing countries for hundreds of years.

137 I think a WWII AU is different than making everyone Nazis, or making an adventure story about Nazis.

138 True, she's been beyond tiresome lately, but Madonna has had a long career and done many things, and she could probably squash you like a bug. Also, the whole "lost all respect" thing is tiresome in itself—you really judge people for the musicians they enjoy? Not enough time in the world, dude.

150 Three squares (http://lizbee.livejournal.com/903837.html), but not enough for bingo, sadly.

157 Having a friend who's a BNF changes the entire way you exist in fandom. It can be really discouraging, but try not to compare yourself. Just do your own thing.

101

(Anonymous) 2008-11-30 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Except for the part about them being two different media who communicate in completely different ways.

Then again, there are few things that annoy me more than people who insist on calling them "graphic novels" or "sequential art", because God knows that comics get SO much more serious if defined as a subset of the "serious" art forms.

[identity profile] laiqua-liante.livejournal.com 2008-11-30 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
101. Um, I used to be that way, and then I actually read graphic novels. Yeah, actually reading them helps.

111. It makes me sad that you think that little of Lavi. Your friend sounds kinda like an ass, but I don't really think Lavi is.

127. Lol, I don't think they like each other, sorry.

146. Me too! I watched that and was like "Wait, why aren't they making out?" They aren't even bothering to make it look like they aren't doing it. They might as well go all the way.

149. I think all those things are done in good humour. I mean, really, I don't think he's supposed to look like a pedo. And he is very very pretty.

(Anonymous) 2008-11-30 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not that he likes him in the anime/manga/movies or anything like that. It's simply referring to the characters we play ourselves and how much like them we are. Also, we both enjoy the ship, even though we also know it isn't going to easily happen. Whenever we RP it, we always make sure to do so in an IC way, and that is what's challenging.

This isn't aimed at you, OP, so much as it is in response to some of the comments I've seen made about this:

Why is it okay for the series to poke fun at and make light of WWII as long the Holocaust isn't mentioned?

Re: 139

(Anonymous) 2008-11-30 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't know about the rest of the commenters here, but Hetalia is about *military* fuckups more than the civilian tragedies of WWII (and other eras in general), and that's why the holocaust or the atomic bombings are hardly mentioned. It's not making it "more okay" as much as the comic recognizes that some jokes are classified as "TOO SOON, *TOO SOON!!*", which I dig a lot. It has it's own brand of respect for history.
