166. Speaking as someone who still misses the Slipstream BBS and it's heyday, a lot of us are over HERE (http://www.exisle.net/mb/index.php). But, to be fair, I stopped watching the show around the same time Slipstream was shut down (I'm one of "those" people, and I'm not ashamed to admit it).

In the beginning, the Andromeda fandoms was one of the most amazing I've been in. I made some of my best friends via that fandom, and I have some amazing memories. The sense of community between the fans (and the writers) was wonderful. Everything just went so far south (with the show and the fandom) after the RHW debacle.

There are very few things I'm more bitter about than the fate of Andromeda. But I'm sure that's a rant that doesn't need rehashing.

104. Ok, I don't get the hate against this ship! Not just this secret, but all the other anti-Keller or anti-Rodney/Keller secrets that have been showing up recently. Doesn't anyone like this ship? I think it's adorable, not that I'm a die-hard shipper, but it's sweet enough.

I actually kind of respect that. Would that more fanfiction writers felt the same way. While I can enjoy a fanfic that isn't at all plausible, I find the ones where extensive research into the characters, universe and (if possible) subject matter to be far more interesting and well-written. Writing SHOULD involve research. *shrug*

143. What I don't understand is why iconing in general is such sEERius BiZneZz. Why do people demand credit for cropping and adding weird colors to a perfectly good piece of fanart or official art? How can you people turn around and sneer at someone who doesn't like the fact that you stole art and mutilated it? As an artist myself, I find that rather offensive. Please, if you make an icon why not try and draw or design it from scratch yourself? Then maybe you'll understand why people are so protective of their work.
