I'd be more accepting of this claim if fans didn't sometimes act like spoiled obnoxious children throwing tantrums when things don't go exactly the way they want them to.

I get that it's escape from real life but it doesn't really make you look good to be throwing a fit over something stupid like a TV show not going as expected. That's when people start wonder how you all handle real life shit without throwing a fit.

Now someone will tell me that by being able to throw a fit about the little things it's easier to deal with the more important things... fair enough but we in fandom only get to see what you're like HERE in fandom, not in real life - how are we supposed to know what you're REALLY like?

134.) I feel the same way. I know it turns some people on, but for me and most of my friends I've polled, it does nothing or actually hurts. I even prefer to write my fanfic to that point, either having the person getting tweaked/licked/etc., not turned on at all by it, or not mentioning it at all. Though I do think some characters would like it, so I have written it on occasion. But it makes no sense to me.

143.) Do you get upset when people have manga or anime fanart icons? Because they didn't ask the original mangaka for permission. Icon makers aren't making money off someone else's fanart. So long as they don't claim they drew it, I fail to see the problem. It's a compliment. I'd be flattered.

150.) I am the same way, and it frustrates me a lot of times because by the time I feel I know a character inside and out enough to play him or her, the rest of the world has moved on or the role is already taken by a bunch of shitty RPers everywhere, etc. Ah well.

The only other one that comes to mind right now is 大好き, which in Japanese is "daisuki" or "I love you/like you very much". In Chinese, the first two kanji mean "big good". This at least sorta makes sense, and you could probably trace that etymology without much difficulty.

But "big husband" --> "it's okay" just confuses me.

I'm sure there are others I've encountered and forgotten, but 99.99% of kanji mean exactly what they mean in Chinese, which is something that comes in handy for picking up random nouns here and there while watching anime karaoke OPs/EDs.

148. Me too. Part of me really wants to see more of the characters, but the show ended on such a good note and I think it should just be left there. It's been so many years that I think it'd be hard to recapture the charm of the series (though not the chemistry. Simon/Nick/Jessica will always have that).

There'd be too much pressure to make it as good as seasons 1 & 2.
