Didn't generate nearly as much wank as I thought it would.

OMG THANK YOU! I've been waiting forever and watching every pushback and rumor. I will be first in line at my theater for the opening night. cirque Du Freak is my favorite series and doesn't get near enough love! Your secret made me stutter for a wile trying to express the joy that someone felt the same as me!

Tony's tough on McGee (like any annoying older brother), but he wouldn't think twice about stepping in front of a bullet for him. He loves Probie-One Kenobi.

Re: 165

[identity profile] sio.livejournal.com 2009-01-20 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
Probie-One Kenobi....LMFAO. good one. and so true. if it came down to that, Tony would take that risk.

#129: ...yeah, I donno. It's a hot ship, and there's potential for it to be interesting, but the thing that gets me the most is what the fandom did to it. Super fluffy Zutara just...makes me wonder why Zutarians don't ship Kataang.

No, no, wait, I'm not getting into this. Zukataang, anyone?

(Anonymous) 2009-01-20 05:47 am (UTC)(link)
IAWTC

I've seen plenty of fab dark Zutara stories, but I've got to ask why when it comes to the fluff. Fluffy Zutara seems to go against the whole point- if you're writing badly OOC stuff, why don't you write AUs, original fic, or just go with the canon ships that fit fluff better?

[identity profile] sio.livejournal.com 2009-01-20 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
163....the plot was a little silly in retrospect but who cares! every show has its slipups. (yea, i've been a diehard P/T shipper for twelve years...sue me.)

165. okay so you don't like how Tony treats McGee. it's part of his personality--get used to it. and since you failed to elaborate, kindly wtf is your issue with Ziva. thanks. :D

Re: 163, 165

[identity profile] tenandrose.livejournal.com 2009-01-20 09:41 am (UTC)(link)
YOU WIN.

I ship P/T like nobodies business, I love the Tony/McGee interaction and Ziva ftw. I absolutely luff her.

Also, I quite liked the plot of Blood Fever actually. :P Lighter episodes are great.

[identity profile] velvetalchemist.livejournal.com 2009-01-20 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
135: HELL YES!

165: Funnily enough, I think they've both been asploded in a firey ball of glory once or twice each. *lol* Okay, yes McGee gets picked on alot, but he tends to save his zingers up for when he can REALLY burn someone. Me and my buddy are alot like DiNozzo and McGee... I crack playful insults at her all the time, and she saves hers up for a bi-weekly annihilation. Anyway it goes, we do it because we care. :) Even funnier, this buddy of mine would SO have McGee's babies. *grin* Whereas I am more of a sick mix of DiNozzo and Abby... Yeesh.

171: You know what made that collage post really great? BENDER. That is all.

125. I only listen to Bella's Lullaby. Is guilty of learning it on the piano. Fuck you haters, I <3 Carter Burwell.
128. Awh, make them get into fandom! I recently made my best friend start getting into fanfic/fandom by reading f!s with him. He now understands me when I say, "doing it" "i ship it" "otp/ot3" and "slash" :D

bite me, 118

[identity profile] sio.livejournal.com 2009-01-20 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
while i semi-like Twilight (it's mildly entertaining) and love Trek, the fandoms are FAR FAR apart.

Twilight = mostly full of dumbassed teenagers who shame the sane and/or adult fans.

Trekkies = all shapes, sizes, walks of life. a few dumbasses, but mostly VERY smart people.

not to mention (and no disrespect to Stephenie Meyer), Twilight will fade within ten years, more than likely. Trek is now in its FORTIETH year and still going strong, thank you very much. and will probly last another forty years--or more.

also, go back to school and learn to spell.

Re: bite me, 118

(Anonymous) 2009-01-20 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
You forgot the creepiest of the Twilight fandom: the middle aged housewife that is obsessed with and is living vicariously through the books. Really, they're not unlike Meyer herself. They're the same creepy people who would post Clay Aiken posters all over their walls and attack anyone who said he was gay (ie, anyone with eyes).

I agree the prompts involving underage kids were sqicky. I didn't read those. But there was a lot of non kiddie kinks on the meme. I really don't think they were as popular as you think they were. And not judging people's kinks was part of the rules, so even though I found it gross it's not like anyone could say anything about it there.

I don't have a problem with you thinking it's gross, because it is, but it disappoints me that you're going to judge your whole fandom on the behavior of a few individuals.

Re: 105

(Anonymous) 2009-01-20 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Not the OP, but the tolerance of the fandom for that kind of thing is what bothered me. I don't thing child pornography is something that *should* be tolerated. It's not the same as other kinks, IMO. It's still fantasy, yeah, but it's a whole different level because it involves children.

For me, the kiddie porn itself was bad enough, but the fact that people were okay with it being around (even if they themselves didn't read it) is what made me think... "Fandom, you fail". I'm going by discussions in other journals as well as the fact that the mods left that type of thing up there. I don't judge the WHOLE fandom, but I have started looking at SOME people differently because of it. *shrugs*

101.
You have to take the risk of being judged as a rabid fan or other negative stereotypes and open up if you want to find such friends through fandom. Some people fake it (most are extremely obvious) for God knows what reason though.

107.
I think /a/ talks about it? But you won't get many fics and such from them.

113.
It's like dealing with Patrick Colasour, if you know that character.

118.
If you want to be taken seriously as a fan of something that's widely mocked, you should've at least proofread your secret.

119.
Arguing for the sake of argument?
Well, once you do find that they have a fat fetish, it's a lot easier to bulk up compared to slimming down.

122.
There are many Cronas out there. Finding one that doesn't disgust you like that panhandler you can smell from two blocks away is the hard part.

128.
Or they are closet fans trying to hold onto their high horse named "I have better things to do".

166.
This, especially about everyone's "secret identity". It's what I love about fandom.

169.
Where is the secret? If it's somewhere in there but I simply couldn't find it, why did you bother posting? I'm not going to spend an hour trying to figure it out. Proxies are safer than illegible text. Hysterectomy Not posting at all is your best bet.

118. *They're, and to Trekkies ask actors to suck their blood?

128. Words like that occasionally slip out with me, too.

138. Oh, Hetalia, when will they day come that someone doesn't post an offensive/defensive secret.

I'm 17, think cosplay's a bit odd and am doing 3 of my 4 A Level course centred around some sort of history. I like watching good looking boys snog as much as the next person on the internet. I consider myself to be pretty normal. The fandom, whilst not all holding MA's in modern European History, seem pretty intelligent. I honestly can't believe that everyone's just in it for the historical facts, tbh, as much as they say.

Yes, I personally see how people could get offended, but I feel these same people are probably overreacting. Hetalia =/= offensive propaganda cartoons, say. It doesn't go in for insulting one country (as some non fans might guess) but plays on stereotypes that most people know. Being politically correct is nice and all in most situations, but sometimes people are far too quick to jump on the butthurt bandwagon. (Defensive anon, right?)

158. Then everyone will finally stop going on about it. D:

167. I worry about the way people see Obama. Like the bloke, but honestly ...

Die in a fire.

Trek promoted social progressiveness and had incredibly strong female characters. Twatlight is basically a giant Mormon manifesto and is incredibly, unbelievably sexist.

So, yeah, OP. Fuck you. They aren't even remotely comparable.

SPOILERS. (in case some curious person wanders to look. :D)

So.

I do not know if you have read it or how far you have read it, but..

Roland got to the Dark Tower and climbed it (before that, saying goodbye to Susannah, who went through a door into another New York to meet up with Jake and Eddie of that time and that world.. (?).

Anyway, he got to the top of it and opened the door there. Well.. the door takes him back to where he journey began, to the desert. So, he's stuck in a hell of his own, making this journey from the desert to the Dark Tower over and over again, waiting for redemption for his sins and the people he has killed before.

This time, there might be a hint of redemption, since this time Roland carries his horn, that was left before with the body of Cuthbert at the Jericho Hill.

Most people - myself, included - got annoyed by it, eagerly waiting for Roland to finish his journey, only to realize that he has to start it all over(every time he does, he forgets that he did it before) again. Because well, sympathy for the gunslinger and all.
