129: I hear you, OP. I used to be a Zutaran, until the end of season two/beginning of season three when it became screamingly obvious that they weren't going to end up together. In my defense, I thought Zuko was going to join the GAang at the end of season two, and Zuko and Katara would have way more positive interaction. Which is why it was after season two that my Zutara tendencies wanted, and were finally snuffed out at about the time of "The Beach" (Maiko ftw). And while I certainly can be a fan of non-canon couples, there's an attitude that some Zutarans have that just turns me off to the pairing, period.

As someone who also used to be interested in Zutara, I hear where you're coming from. I spent months and months reading all the "big fics" that existed at the time, but the deeper I got into fandom and the longer the show went on, the less the ship made sense to me. And yes -- the attitudes of many of its fans, and their behavior in the common areas of fandom, drove me away from shipping it even for fun.

I do think you watching it in the span of a couple of days does have something to do with it. Even though I watched the series as it aired, about a month ago I watched the whole thing over the span of a few days and caught nuances and things I had missed the first time around.

And watching it again like that made me appreciate and love the canon ships even more.

115.) I love furry art that isn't sexual. I think it takes a real talent to draw not-quite-human and not-quite-anime anatomy together. Some of the best people I ever knew were furry artists. I rarely have drawn anything because I can't draw worth a damn. But I like well-done non-sexual furry art. It's rare to find, though, at least...it used to be. (I don't purposefully look for it anymore.)

115. Unfortunately, you're wrong. I know there's lots of unappealing furries out there, but I know a lot as well who are attractive, awesome people, and you'd never know they were a furry. I hate it when people bash the furry fandom - there are some really nice people there. I'm not a furry, I merely call myself an anthropomorphic artist, nevertheless I still dwell in some of the same places as furries and find them likeable and fun. Even if a bit odd XD

I try to make a point of commenting on comment-less fics in my tiny, tiny fandom just for this reason. I hate to think that someone has made the effort of writing something (even if it's not very good) and is trying to keep this fandom alive, and NOBODY acknowledges it. How sad! I try to find something positive to say, even if it's just "Wow, interesting premise!", just so they don't feel like fools or failures.

I've actually wanted to dabble in fics...but 1.) I feel like there aren't really any good writers in the fandom (or at least in what I have seen of it), and they'd be like "lol wut" if I tried to be serious, and 2.) There just isn't much of a fandom in the first place!

I'm really hoping that the fandom gets bigger with the new album coming out...I've always been astounded by how small/inactive it is when there's SO MUCH material and talent with Gorillaz.

There's even a kink meme now...hmmmm...>:).

OP here! I'm so glad there's so many people who feel this way, yay.
You should drabble! Add something to the pile that isn't OoC! Gorillaz is such a great concept; pretty much any kind of fandom should be present. I was shocked when I finally went looking for fandom and found mostly dead sites. I hold the same hopes for the new album. KINK MEME WHERE?
