101) Trust me, people who go "DIS MAH WAIFU~~:D!!" are more pathetic than you'll ever be. I don't discount the ability of people to make friendships online, but unless people have actually met in the flesh at some point, I can't help but feel as if those friendships aren't as deep as they think.

On 101, I have had three of some of the most caring best friends a person could hope to have, and two I've never met in person. I met them through fandom, but our friendships are much deeper than that and they have helped me through so much and I am truly grateful to have them in my life. Maybe it's not as deep as I think? I don't know, could be, same with people who are "RL" friends. I had a best friend for 11 years and we just drifted apart. I thought that was a deep and lasting friendship. A friendship isn't defined by location.

Fandom friends come and go, but if a friendship goes beyond that, then I don't see why that's less valid than two people that are friends off the internet.

132. I think you need to separate fiction/reality in this case... Hetalia is, dare I say, cute, but applying it to real life is definitely not good. Realize this.
138. I agree. Anyone who doesn't see that it obviously can offend some people is an idiot. I understand this and it bothers me that I like some of Hetalia. Certain characters make me uncomfortable, etc. It's complicated.

138. I ended up leaving the community because how offensive a lot of the comments were about the cancellation of the anime. The members' reactions were very selfish and disrespectful, and the backlash against Koreans was absolutely disgusting. Telling a country to lighten up just so you can watch a cartoon? Despite liking the series, the insensitivity and entitlement of some of the fans really makes me not want to associate with the fandom at all. Stay classy, guys.

I'm guessing you don't watch the show much now or are not up to date with season 6. McGee gives almost as good as he gets now. In fact he often gets one over on Tony. Ziva stands up for McGee often as well. Tony and Ziva are also my least favorite characters, but I don't hate them, it's more of a 'meh...' feeling on my part. Yay for not hating on Abby. So many NCIS secrets lately.

I can't speak for the OP, but as someone who got into the show late (and is still only on S4), it can be tricky to dig up stuff about other characters and pairings (especially if you're trying to avoid spoilers). Luckily, the person who got me into the show provided me with links (and warned me not to go looking for stuff about Beckett, as he's my favourite character)...

I also know how hard it is sometimes in a fandom with a very dominant pairing, especially if you like a rare pairing.

But, yeah, SGA fandom is pretty awesome, I've found...and, again, I can't speak for the OP...
