The attempts by so many of the charactes (including the suffering prisoners) to protect a little boy's innocence in a place like that completely broke my heart. It shows what humanity is capable of, heroic and terrible.

Everybody knows what happened in the holocaust. After a little while the stories get too horrific and too many and you start to get numb to them. I think a different take on history can make people see things about it that they never realised an make them feel deeper about it.

Basically, read the book.

112. I love Garcia. She is one of my favorite characters in the show. But why the need to put down another character - who is not even in the same show to say how great she is. Can't you just say that you think she is great character/she is the best thing on the show and be done with it?

139. I hadn't thought about it, but you are right. Gideon/BAU team member would be just so wrong it could make for a great story. He was creepy, disturbing and so good at manipulating those around him. Now such things don't make for good real life relationships, but they can make for really good and interesting fictional relationships.

The BBC already disappointed me when they recast Guy Flanagan and Andrea Riseborough. Nothing against the new cast, I just liked the chemistry the trio had in the pilot.

Plus, I have a massive crush on Guy, but I'm trying not to let bias color my opinion here.

But, uh, yay MKR! It's one of the few CLAMP series I like, too. And actually, I'm not that fond of Umi either, but that's just because her personality irritates me.

I can't help ;-; My best friend for five years loved her, and I disliked the character to begin with, and whenever she would play her, she would be grossly out of character, and attention whoreish. Then, after we stopped RPing, I picked up two or three more, and EVERY Hikaru afterward was like that. Most Rayearth fans love Hikaru and hate Fuu, some for the Fountain of Eterna, some because they think she's "kawaii." I still like the manga version of the character. The anime... not so much, due to her cutting into my favorite scenes and going "OMG I ARE IN TROUBLE GUYS."

I swear to god I was ready to kill her. >.>

IAWTC. Both IRL and online I've seen a lot of people like that. I'm studying abroad in Japan next year, but definitely not because I have an interest in anime; I don't generally like anime at all, actually. I want to experience a different culture, and for once experience what it's like to be a minority. I have some Japanese friends, and I've talked to them about otaku culture before--and they all agree that those kind of people are really freakin' annoying, and that there are a lot of exchange students and people who come to live there that fit that stereotype, and Japanese people just kinda roll their eyes at them most of the time. I realize that not EVERYONE who wants to go to Japan is an obese, Pocky-lovin' weeaboo, but there are definitely enough to create a stereotype.
