There are a few sad but sure reasons why this has no fandom in the US. First, it sold like crap here (kotaku said something like 33k copies in the first month.). Second, fandom creators — keep in mind this is a huge generalization, but still mostly true — are usually of the female persuasion. Not too many girls own PS3s (I, personally, know 3 including myself), so very few have even gotten the chance to play it.

I wish more people who did fandom things played this! I wrote one fic, and so far it's the only one I've ever seen in English (Im sure I'm wrong, but I just haven't found any others yet). If you find/have found anything, let me know! ^_^

I kind of figured the PS3 thing was part of it (and that probably also factored into how poorly it sold).

I found senjou_valkyria, but it's kinda dead. There's a tiny bit of fic there and on ff.net, but it's all short. :(

I actually always liked Wufei. My first viewing of the series had me iffy about him, but the second time around I tried to see where he was coming from and I suddenly forgave a lot of his attitude. By the third time I watched the show entirely, he was my favourite of the Gundam pilots. Looking back at it now, I also would go so far as to say he also has plenty of room to mature further; he was only fifteen years old, after all.

I suppose, since it's seeming a bit wanky, the "something sick" really applies more to Hostel than to Saw. As far as I understand, Saw has a plot and a point. Rather like a more detailed version of Se7en--a sick kind of movie, but not a bad one. I don't think I'll be able to watch Se7en again, and I doubt I'll ever bring myself to watch Saw--just not my thing--but that doesn't make them torture porn.

Hostel, though...I can't see it as anything but.
